    Thanks again all!

    One other thing...

Although the buyer paidinto my paypal account, it still isn't in my current account.

I asked to withdraw the money yesterday and it's still showing as 'pending'.

Before I refund should I wait until this status has gone to 'completed' ?

Thanks again for all your kind help

A bit late on this transaction but if you think there's a problem, you really should leave the funds in Paypal.
It will take possibly until Tuesday or Wednesday to hit your bank account, then a week to refund. Fine if you have the cash in your bank account but I don't know whether the buyer can cancel a payment etc, by which time it could be your own money gone.

I agree, this is just about the worst possible scenario.

At least if money was still in paypal it could be refunded immediately which gives the OP some bargaining power as per my earlier post, thsi way the selelr can't ask the buyer to repay with the correct address and unless they reund quickly will almost certainly get a chargeback opened against them and that is a mark on the seller dashboard as well as potentially a neg and poor stars.

OP all I can suggest now is you get money into your paypal account as quickly as possible, preferably immediately if you have a mate or relative with funds that can transfer paypal to paypal, then refund. If you don't refund this is going to become a real problem.

This happened to me!!! If you look it up online a bit, it's a common scam. They've stolen someone's paypal account and are asking you to send it to another address.
The one I got was a message from someone using a US address on the paypal account, but asked me to ship it to Nigeria.
Don't refund!! Report it to Paypal as suspicious. They will freeze it and give the money back to the rightful owner.
Report the transaction as fradulent straight-away.

They are pressuring you to send as they know they will be found out soon. Don't send, don't refund, report, report, report is my advice!!
