While having a BBQ we got a Tesco Everyday Value Strawberry trifle. Was pleasantly surprised it tasted really, really nice for 89p

    Tesco Everyday Value - Bread - 50p
Bloody brilliant for the price IMO, It's pretty much thick slice (most value bread is only medium elsewhere). Amazing value.

Tesco Value Everyday 1L orange & Apple juice from concentrate
    (chiller section) - 65p - Very good!

    Morrisons Savers - Handwash 500ml - 39p
Lovely lemon smell and great for the price (mentioned elsewhere, but handy in this thread too)

    Morrisons Savers - Fresh Salad - 46p
Great leafy salad, for the price, tastes superb.

Question, seen in places like Tesco & Morrisons have 'value' versions of Sun cream for like 90p. Sun cream is usually so expensive, has anyone tried 'value' range sun cream? does it work?

This is the great thing about Sainsbury's Basics range- it's all still ethical and responsibly sourced. The Basics eggs are from barn hens, they DO NOT sell any caged eggs at all. Unlike Tesco's...who refuse to stop selling them until it becomes illegal.

Agreed. Sainsburys Basic tea bags, something ridiculous like 30p a box, and they're Fairtrade!

I think you are supposed to add water :D

    Even with water :p
  • Another thing that is not good are ASDA Smart Price Jumbo Toilet Rolls.

They used to be made with a smoother type paper than the normal Smart Price 4pk toilet rolls. Now they are just made using the same horrible paper as the 4pk but with a few extra sheets per roll.
  • Even if/when SP/Value toilet paper was softer it is always a false economy as you need to use more of it than other stuff. Just one thing that are not good value items.

I don't get them anymore, I get the 9pk Saxon from Aldi for £1.99 and it is far superior paper
