Vodafone proof of purchase
Hi
I damaged my Iphone 4 weeks ago and filed a claim with my insurance company, they have asked for a proof of purchase/ownership from Vodafone. I requested this on 14th June and have since filled in 3 contact forms on the Vodafone website and spoke to Vodafone 5 times but as yet have still not received anything. I was even told today that the email was being sent while we were speaking but nothing arrived.
I am getting worried as my insurers have said that they require all information within 28 days of the claim which is Monday, i then go on holiday on Weds so when i return it will be 6-7 weeks.
Does anybody have any suggestions? Would i have grounds to cancel my contract?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Mark

I filed a claim for my lost 3G with Tesco Insurance earlier this year. I couldn't find the receipt for the handset at the time.
I printed a screenshot of my iTunes were it showed the device name, and the IMEI number. I printed out a website which proved the IMEI number was an iPhone 3G. And I printed out a couple of pages from O2s website which showed my mobile number, and them saying I was using an iPhone 3G.
All went through without too much of a problem.
Just out of interest, what damage did you do to it? I don't know what the excess is on the policy (mine was £100), you can get a new or good as new (refurb) handset from Apple for about £140.0 -
Hi BR
Thanks for the reply.
My 2 year old dropped it in the bath, let it dry out completely but it wont turn on.
Insurance company have said i have to have Proof directly from Vodafone. I cant even show a bill as for approx 3 years i havent been able to view my bill online, another problem vodafone have been unable to rectify!
My insurance is through Natwest bank and the excess is only £25

You will get nowhere at all with the email contact which goes to a service centre in India that offers no service. The call centres arent a lot better. I also had people swearing they were sending out an email that never came.
Go onto their web forum and make a post asking a mod to help you. They generally get back to you pretty promptly and were very helpful getting me a proof of purchase letter. They emailed it and posted a hardcopy.
Seriously if it werent for the web team I would have pulled my hair out with Vodafone.0 -
Hi mbibbyx,
I am sorry to hear that you still haven't received the proof of purchase from us. If you drop me an email to the address shown here with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject and a link to this thread, I will be happy to help.
Kind regards,
Heidi
