Virgin Media Call centres

Tried to get some help for my son setting up his VM broadband spent about half an hour trying to explain to an Indian Lady at some call centre that I could not understand a word she was saying. I have used Indian call centres before but this was the worst by a mile, they should all learn from Santander by bringing it all back to the UK.

Is it VM cable or VM down a BT line? What help do you need?

I have to agree with the OP. Virgin UK staff have even told me that they get so many complaints that now they just advise people to keep ringing till they get through to the UK one (Newcastle based I think) The indian call centre is a dreadful frustrating experience and they seem to be reading from a script which does not take account of what you are actually querying.

Cable, the problem is non acceptance of the modem code it worked before but the PC went pop so its a new set up on a different PC.

What modem code? I have had VM (was NTL) cable BB for over eight years never had to put a code in my PC for it to work. Or are you referring to a Wi-Fi router WEP or WPA security password?

I thought the virgin phone link was the quick fix but I will leave it to my sons best pal who until recently worked for Packard bell.

You have about as much chance of them sending an engineer as you have of plaiting fog. I suspect the Indian call centre are on a bonus scheme which is cancelled if they send out an engineer. They put you through a series of troubleshooting hoops then say they will ring you back....of course they never do, then you call again and the person insists on going through the same rigmarole again....and so the cycle repeats. I had to go via the office of the CEO to get an engineer.
