Just wanted to say that when I turned 18 I applied for a Nationwide Flex Account and was given a chequebook, just sayin'.
  • Lol dont be rediculous.

I don't work for them lol. I was just saying. My only concern is this Visa Debit card though - is it an offline Visa Debit or one of these stupid "electron in disguise" things.

how much do you earn working for them?

The guy doesn't work for them - he simply followed my advice posted a while ago that a cheque book / debit card account is readily available without a credit reference search for those willing to think outside the box (I don't work for them either) :D

Is it a full Visa Debit or one of those "electronic use only" ones.

They charge literally for everything, even if you closing your account: http://www.bankofbarodauk.com/service-charges/

The first item on that page says "Savings Bank Account -- No account maintenance/transaction charges". Most of the charges are for things most banks charge for -- like overdraughts (you won't have one on a savings account anyway). The account closure charge only applies if you close it in year 1 anyway. To avoid the charge, just wait until 12 months have passed....
