Flight price help.

Friend has asked me to try and find a decently priced direct flight from Manchester to Atlanta sometime in October (preferably the beginning, but she's not fussed if it's later).
Now, I've read the guide and searched and the cheapest I can find is Delta for £620.
Now, there's all sorts of ones available on the likes of cheapflight.co.uk for a little as £360, phone only deal. I assume these are to be avoided?
Trouble is, last holiday I went on was 1998 and I've zero idea who is trust worthy, who is fair and who should be avoided at all costs. But Obviously if I can find a cheaper one, obviously that's the point.
Any advice at all is greatly appreciated.

looks quite expensive - you don't mention if it is single or return (singles do tend to be more expensive!) - if not fixed on dates check first skyscanner.net for cheapest dates then check on the delta site - eg 5th-15th Oct is under £500...but to travel out on the same flight and not return is £737!
the cheapest ones you mention are often restricted with date ranges or could be indirect flights0 -
Delta operate the DL64/65 direct flight from Man - Atl, and can get very booked up quite early.
Operated by B767.
Usually, the cheapest price you will get is to deal directly with the airline, so best with those. Fixed date tickets are usually cheapest, however if you can be a bit flexi with your dates, you may get a better priced ticket.
BTW, dont forget your ESTA, if you need one.

Thanks for the replies.
It's a single passenger, round trip, 14 days.
She did say the beginning of the month was preferred, but any time within the end of September and the end of October.
A kayak search brought up one for £477 with KLM Royal Dutch, they okay?
So best bet is to call the airlines?Sigless0 -

How would she know if she needs an ESTA?Sigless0 -
Just checked skyscanner.
Cheapest I can find is £442 with delta and kml. But the booking is through fholiday genie.
So what do I do?
Seems one way is with delta, and one way is with KML.Sigless0 -

KLM do codeshares with Delta - if you look at kayak on the KLM flights it does say "operated by Delta"0 -
How would she know if she needs an ESTA?
She most likely does...though not impossible that she doesn't.

So basically, just call delta.
What if they quote the £607?
Are genieholidays to be avoided? Or are they safe to book the flight with?Sigless0 -
What dates are you looking at?
Using Kayak I can 5th- 19th October comes up at £447. Kayak.co.uk is just a comparison site and it shows that Netflights.com, ebookers.com and lastminute.com are offering that price. They are all large well known reputable agents. Not heard of Holidaygenie myself, but it doesn't mean they are bad news. The same flights are around £30 more on delta.com
You can ring Delta, but I doubt they'll beat their web price over the phone. Its not unusual for online agents to be cheaper than the airline direct.0
