Is there any particular reason/need for you to want to stay on the ER at both places?

Not really...... I consider my current abode to be temporary yet I have been here for 3 years. The "previous" address is more likely to outlive my "current/more recent" address.
  • I have missed being on the EL at my current address by accident, it's only after a rejection a month or so ago when looking for a loan for a car that I noticed I wasn't on.

I have sent a rolling reg form and completed the annual canvas with my partner but my council have advised yesterday that I missed the 10th Aug cut off point for listing on 1st Sep and will now be processed on 1st Dec via the annual canvas.

This means I'm stuck until then and will be starting winter without a car, fun times ahead getting to work.

I have asked if the council can provide a letter stating I have sent them a rolling reg and annual canvas and for them to confirm I will be on the EL by 1st Dec, which they have agreed they will do but at a charge of £10.00.

Can I pass this to the CRA's to have my credit records updated now or at least a note made on my account? Can I also pass it to my bank or whoever I try to get a loan with and ask them to do a manual credit check?

Or will I simply have to suck it up for a few months till Jan or later when my credit reports finally get updated via the councils actions?

boomclart: have you moved in a couple of months ago? If so, most lenders still could consider your circumstances unstable. On the other hand, if you missed last year's canvas and just noticed it to miss it again for this year, you could always appeal the rejection explaining that you haven't moved recently, just missed the deadline due to travelling, for example.

If you indeed moved in less than half a year ago, then it may be normal for some lenders to flat out refuse credit - which you could still appeal, by the way. For example you could insist you handle credit well and offer to send in statements. Otherwise the annual canvas is expected to be used by the CRAs by mid-January only

It happened to me a few years ago, for some reason the council lost my application for the rolling register in April, and I didn't inquire until the end of August... In any case, your history would still be "complete", based on whole years, and some of your current lenders would probably show the month you changed address more precisely.
    Enjoy the silence...
  • I moved in just over 1 year ago, so missed last years canvas... forgot clean about it to be honest as i don't actively vote and wasn't thinking about credit at the time... yes the running accounts I have will show the dates I changed addresses, so a letter from the council backed up by statements from the likes of my bank, vodafone, virgin etc showing on time payments during my time at this address should be of use when applying for a loan?
