Looks like the Coop think you are guilty of "Fronting" :(
I agree. Routers810, you say that on both cars you Mum is listed first (main driver) and you are listed second (named driver). Therefore on both cars your mum should be doing the majority of the driving and you the minority. If the insurnace, on either car, find out that you are the majority driver then this is fronting (illegal) and they can cancel the insurnace and not pay out for any claim you make (third parties are paid).

In this case where the other party is to blame normally your insurance will pay you out and then claim the money back from the other insurnace company. However if they believe fronting occured they wont do this and you will have to pursue the other party.

My solicitor has only just proved it was him by the cctv as it had taken the police this long to give out the cctv and all whitness statments, as I was knocked out straight away I have no recolection of the accident on the m6.

Don't wish to add to your problems, but if you were knocked unconscious, you might have to inform the DVLA and fill out the necessary questionnaire. Depends on how any injuries you received were classified - details at http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/MedicalRulesForDrivers/MedicalA-Z/index.htm
