And you don't think other suppliers are going to follow suit? tsk.

Not at 16% for electricity. Anyway, I moved to a fixed rate.
  • Well I think you're dead wrong on the electricity front to be honest. Guess we'll see...

16%elec is big, but how does that compare for like British Gas to Scottish Power in terms of the new unit price.....

The increases are always big, but what i hate is the bashing Bitish Gas gets by the news in comparison to the other energy companies....

The news needs to be bash all energy companies equally
Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?

This. It's always British Gas who get the front page bashing.

EDF raise their prices, for example, and they end up on page 7 or something!!!

    Bash all, or bash none.

They must now be happy with their figures for those customers they've scooped from SP and EDF in the past few weeks.

Not that i'm cynical about BG intentions in anyway.

ps-maybe i've got that wrong. They were actually saving their customers money for as long as possible but could no longer delay the inevitable price rises. Aye right.:rotfl:

They are all as bad/good as each other. I'm in the 'bash them all' brigade.

Out of interest why would they have scooped customers from EDF?

If only it were 17% annually - even that is wishful thinking these days. These rises seem to be coming more than once per year - the annual rise must be quite a bit higher than 17%. Oh well - the 40 year opposition to Nuclear build (forcing us into a recent dash for gas) plus those windmills here there and everywhere (which contribute little) are now causing the sh to hit the fan. Unfortunately, it will continue to hit the fan for several years whatever measures we belatedly take today or tomorrow.
  • I feel ill, I moved to British Gas after my EDF ended a couple of months ago. Only another £384 a year extra for me in my all electric house
    LBM April 2011 £4906

Do I need it? Can I afford it? Is it cheaper elsewhere?
