Well, I think DH was trying to make up for the takeaway debacle of yesterday this morning.
He saw the CSA money hit the bank account this morning and went and bought DS's camera. Very helpful of him and super organised too! Serves me right for not telling him about the plan of using the CSA money for the car lol! But I'm very pleased to have DS's present sorted out - at least if baby comes early and he can't have a party then he has a nice present
Still no plasterer today though so if he's not going to come I guess we can use that money for the car!
Ah well, I'm going to have a weekend off money, I'm not even going to log into internet banking. All the bills are paid and we have food in the fridge and diesel in the cars so also shouldn't need to spend any money either.
And the sun is shining and due to stay that way all weekend which always puts a smile on my face

Awww how lovely hun
you sound happy.
Time away from money can only be a good thing for your BP and headaches. I know how you feel as mine has only just eased up after days of it (headache that is) but as I said over in my diary - it's sinusitus which is why I couldn't shift the headache. I hope for you it's purely as you say - last thing you need is any extra to worry about.
I know the OCD thing - mine comes from when I didn't used to know what my outgoings were so when I checked my balances I was over drawn or worse and had to quickly do something about it and always in a panic - always after the event. So although now I know everything that is due to come out - I still have OCD that I better check just in case. LOL.
Anyway - I am outta here for a week on my jollies as you will prob see
I hope all's well for you while I am away and will catch up when I am back. I don't plan on doing much while I am off

Good morning Diaryland

Well I had a reasonably successful non-money weekend! Had to log into internet banking but just to shift some money around so DH could get the cash out for the plasterer who has promised faithfully that he'll be here tomorrow!
I finally got the baby clothes washed! Oh how cute did they look hanging out on the line! I managed to not cry at them too! It was the only thing I managed to achieve unfortunately, legs decided not to work so that was me bed bound for the duration!
DH has had a very productive weekend though - he managed to fix the broken bathroom window which hasn't opened for about 4 years and I was expecting to need to replace so he's firmly in the good books
! He also cleaned all the windows inside and out and cleared another couple of bags of carp out of his shed!
Plan for this week (legs dependent) is:-
1. Sort DS's school shoes/jumper/trousers;
2. Find out details for nearest car boot;
3. Wash moses basket bedding;
4. Book hospital visit;
5. Meal plan for next two weeks and shop;
6. Eat contents of freezer and defrost before attempting shop part of #5;
7. Have a look through the budget up to next payday.
Not necessarily in that order
I made the mistake of wandering over to the Mortgage Free Wannabee board the other day. Some of the folks over there are amazing, the milestones that they achieve in such short periods of time! I'm jumping WAY ahead of myself by even thinking about being mortgage free but I couldn't resist having a go at the calculator. The calculator that said if I overpaid by £8,500 a year I could clear the mortgage in 10 years.
Mentioned it to DH who just rolled his eyes. One step at a time eh? :rotfl:0 -
Hope you feel better soon must be awful wanting to do so much and not being able to.
Im not much of a list writer maybe i should start and i might achieve more.
I have my debts listed on a whats the cost, so every time i pay one of them i list it on there and it tells me when i will be debt free ,the payments snowball so the idea is when ive paid something off that payment goes to the next one and so on. If i snowball into my mortgage i could be mf in 80 months ( if i dont its 14 years) Know which option i prefer:D
Had an interview this morning which went really well and i would cut my right arm off for the job it sound perfect and i know i would be brill at it.
She liked me but shes interviewing a few more people and i wount find out for a week or so.
Got to be positive and hope that my luck is changing, because this extra money would help us big time.:eek:MAKE £2022 in 2022 no 29 £2022/£434.10

THE PLASTERER IS HERE :j:D:j:D:j
Fingers crossed for the job LMHart! It sounds brilliant, and just what you need
did she say when she would let you know?
I haven't looked at my snowball for a while, when most of the debts froze interest it didn't really seem relevant anymore but it will be handy for working out when each is due to be clear. Will add that to the list.
I'm so pleased the plasterer is here but I get really nervous when there is someone different in my house. Daft I'm sure, especially seeing as I've known the guy for about ten years....weird old Winnie...0 -
I know what you mean, I'm rubbish at dealing with people in my house.
Make sure you lock him in until he finishes the job :rotfl:0 -
Morning Winnie
I have to wait at least a week, shes going on holiday today.Not the most confident of people always think everyone else is better than me:(
Glad plasterer has arrived, you will be all sorted in no time.
I like snowballing as i can add each of my pad to it and see the figures going down.
How many things on your list did you achieve.
I have printed off a list of a few things to get in Asda that are cheaper in Tesco so i can get an extra 10% back ( every little helps):DMAKE £2022 in 2022 no 29 £2022/£434.10

I've tied Furball up next to the front door and he's scared of dogs so has to get me to move her if he wants to go outside lol! I love having a German Shepherd

Oh thats awful! It would have been better if she'd done the interviews after her holiday! Waiting always knocks my confidence too - big hugs and hopes for you x
So far I've achieved diddly squat from my list :rotfl: will try harder tomorrow when I'm not hiding from the plasterer

I have two gorgeous, smooth, newly plastered ceilings
such a relief to have them done! And I didn't have to throw anything to achieve it either!
I need to alter my list a little now. DS has gone off to his dads until tomorrow lunchtime so I have a few bits I need to do while he's not here.
New list:-
1. Measure door frames for new doors and architrave (sp?);
2. Clean and prep skirting boards for DH to gloss;
3. Clear up the dusty bits and plaster splatters in bathroom;
4. Arrange for FIL to come and fix the bathroom light;
5. Arrange for stepdad to come and put new doors up and skirting board in bathroom.
Think thats it. For the minute.
I've also had someone offer to buy our little car. We do need to change it because DH needs the big car back for work and I can't drive the little car without hurting myself (no power steering, dodgy wrists from years of audio typing). But while I'd love to change it for my dream Audi RS4 Estate we just can't afford to elevate our car costs that much. So we need to have a think and a chat.0
