Oooh what a fabulously constructive day I'm having!
So far today I have:-
1. Been to see my boss to have a chat about maternity pay (not entitled to SMP, but I knew that, just needed him to tell me);
2. Rang the Jobcentre to get the form I need to apply for maternity allowance;
3. Did some virtual star jumps (:j) when I worked out that when the MA comes through we'll have an effective payrise of £200 a month;
4. Sorted out DS's next dietician appointment;
5. Helped my best mate buy a wedding dress;
6. Decluttered my "Monica" drawer;
7. Found the account numbers for both Black Horse and CrapOne accounts for PPI reclaim;
8. Taken delivery of the plasterboard for the new ceiling;
9. Found my lovely cocoa butter body butter to help my stretch marks itch less; and
10. Painted my toenails!
What a fantastic day! All (bar one) from the comfort of my own bed! Hoping very much that this motivation will last for the weekend as I need to get my hospital bag organised.
Saw my midwife yesterday, heard Bob's heartbeat again
- love that bit, but had a bit of bad news in that my blood pressure is quite high and that together with the headaches with flashing lights I keep getting and the protein in my wee she thinks I may have/be getting pre-eclampsia. Which isn't good. He's also lying back to back (explains the extra pain) and his head is engaged (which explains the extra waddling). So we collected the car seat from MIL's last night and this weekend I'm going to get the bits I need for my hospital bag (the glamorous nighties and the like :rotfl:) just in case. Have also given mum some money just in case he decides to come very early so she can buy some tiny clothes and wash them for us, save DH worrying about that.
I've also decided that now is a really bad time to worry about money. So the cash economy idea is out and we'll concentrate on just keeping costs and therefore my blood pressure down.
Anyway, aiming for a no spend weekend and will probably get it as we have enough food to see us through til Monday, Monday is payday and the cycle starts again

I'm worn out just reading the list of things you've been doing never mind doing them :rotfl:
Do really hope it isn't pre-eclampsia - can they treat it?
Excellant news on the budget

The hardest one was decluttering the drawer! I was completely out of breath after that :rotfl:
Unfortunately the only treatment for pre-eclampsia is to deliver the baby because its got something to do with the placenta. So basically I've got to do even less than I have been doing for the past 6 months and hope my blood pressure goes down before my next appointment on Thursday because if it's gone up then its a hospital stay to be monitored for the rest of the pregnancy
The budget is rather good news, isn't it? Very pleased with that

Started the weekend with some progress - DH cancelled Sky!! It's gone! Ne'er to return! :j:D:j:D:j Monday's job will be reallocating the funds to one or more of the debts!
I'm actually leaving the house in a bit to buy the carpet for the nursery, its only tiny so I'm hoping to get a decent offcut.
Hope everyone has a fab weekend xxx0 -
Good news about Sky :T
Have fun choosing carpet, hope you find a good deal xx0 -
Good morning diaryland!
Didn't manage to get a carpet, but that's just as well because the nursery is being used as storage while the other bedroom is full of wood and plasterboard! The plasterboard should be on the ceiling and hopefully plastered over by the end of this week so we can decorate next weekend and with any luck by this time next week we'll be sleeping in a bedroom instead of the living room
I've been feeling a bit grotty this weekend, mostly because I'm the size and weight of a semi-detatched house and moving has become even more of a problem than it already was. Trying very hard to stay calm and relaxed to try and get the old blood pressure down. Seeing midwife again on Thursday and I can't say I'm optimistic, I really am feeling that grot. On the plus side, I'm 32 weeks today so literally only a few more weeks to go.
Well, its payday again today so need to pop off and pay the council tax and the mortgage. Fun fun fun!
After that I'm planning a soak in the bath with a book that I found at the weekend that I haven't read yet. Have decided that daytime telly is definitely no good for my blood pressure especially with the all the talk of the riots. I'm not big into politics, but I can't help but feel that most of the government need to take their silver spoons out of their mouths and climb down from their ivory towers before they have any particular "right" to judge what happened based on social issues that they have no real understanding of. And that's enough of that!
Off for a wander around the boards and see what everyone else is up to xxx0 -
The maternity allowance form just arrived in the post
unfortunately its a total brain ache jobsworth typical DWP form :mad: but I've read the notes and filled as much of the form in as I can and now I need to find 13 weeks worth of payslips....
....wish I'd worked harder on my filing system
I really need to work on getting organised.... 0 -
Mortgage paid....wish they'd get organised and sort out my direct debit! They can't get their heads around the fact that I want the direct debit to come out of DH's bank account and his name isn't on the mortgage. Neither can they understand that my surname has changed (mortgage was taken out when I was married to DS's dad) so they won't accept a card payment from me because the name on my bank account doesn't match the name on the mortgage account! ARGH! It's like bashing your head on a wall!0
