Vinci Parking fine

Hello all the other day I was rang up by the hospital because my blood levels showed I was having kidney failure because of the drugs they put me on. Because it was and emergency I forgot to display my blue badge and got a parking ticket from Vinci. About 2 day later I needed to have an Embolisation, when I was ok to go home my dad come to pick me up and parked the car again in the hospital car park, the car was there for about 10mins if that but when we got to the car yet another parking fine from vinci. I spoke to the parking attendant who basically said rules are rules.
I've emailed them explaining why we were parked there and how serious the situation was I’ve also told them I could get supporting letter from my consultant to prove I'm not lying but they just said the fine was given correctly and basically couldn't care.
Can I just ignore their threatening tone?

Yes, just ignore them completely as with all Private Parking Charge Notices. This is a scam even though the hospital allows them to be there, you must not pay, nor appeal. JUST IGNORE THEM, like you would when deleting a series of phishing emails.
Stop taking this scam seriously.

Once you have seen the Watchdog paper aeroplane clip and a preview of their debt collector letters, it won't scare you when those letters duly arrive. Use them for pet bedding, or emergency bog roll or something.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They will stop calling these things fines when the Sun goes the same way as the news of the world
Just ignore any pieces of paper you get sent from Vinci, apart from the very unlikely event you receive court papers.0 -
The hospital agreements I have seen between the trusts and the PPC usually say if a blue badge is produced the appeal should be allowed. As we know the BB on private land is just a courtesy, the bays are for disabled people. Once the BB has been produced any disability has been proven.
The PPC's wonder why peoples advice is to ignore them, when given a legitimate appeal situation. Which I believe even a council may allow once the situation was explained.
Its ridiculous to think that someone who is ill and in need of urgent treatment has to worry about where and how they park their car. As long as its not hampering anybody and a reason for it can be explained whats the problem.0 -
This happend to me on Saturday 6th april 2012. The city was stupidly busy (more so than usual) and it had taken me an hour to even get into the car park in the 1st place which is unusual for where I live.
I paid and displayed but as the shops and city was busy was a mere 20mins late (although the attendant has said 30mins which is neither here nor there). I am not in good health and dont walk very fast but yet I was ticketed on my window and I saw the attendant just 4 cars away from mine, ticketing others too. They have stung me in this carpark before and I duly paid the £50 within the 14 alloted days so it wouldnt go up to £100.
Now this has happend again Ive realised a demand of £50 or £100 is ludicrous for just 20mins being late. I saw the attendant photograph other cars as evidence but now Im really scared and worried that if I ignore it they will find out where I live as they are likely to have my number plate or a way of finding out and coming to my house which is scary as a lone woman.
I have a friend who knows of a someone this happend to, they came to his house in the dead of night and clamped the car which was even more pricey to remove.
Anyone have any experience of what they do after youve ignored the ticket for a good while? Do they then write to you? Did they find out your address etc? I have not contacted them so far as this happend to me only 2 days ago. I have looked on their website and they make out they have power. I looked on my local council website (where there is not much advice) so I have emailed a department there to find out where I stand and what action theyre taking with this car park. I also have a relaive who is a police officer working in CID who has advised me that most of these tickets arent enforceable.
I know the advice is to ignore on here but I am very scared.
Thanks all.0 -
First thing to establish is was this a council-run car park or a private one? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

If it's private they wont come to your house. You will get silly letters but they can be ignored.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

A private parking ticket (which is what you have got) isn't based on any law and can be ignored. Do not take the slightest notice of all the idiotic threats which they make in an effort to frighten you into paying. Yes, I know you did it the first time, but now you know better!.....
A council ticket, which is what your friend pretty certainly got, is based around solid law ans must never be ignored. Either pay it or fight it, but never ignore it, since, with Council tickets, yes, the bailiffs DO come.
You will never get any visits from private tickets though. Only asinine letters.0
