ive got a chinese stove and its not very good. it throws off hardly any heat . its meant to be 8kw but its not as big as my dads stovak 6kw.
mine was £300 of ebay, im going to sell it and get a Clarke Regal from machine mart for £400, i know 3 people with them and they all rave about it.0 -
Dont touch the chinese stove! Have a look again at other stoves - stoves online or stove r us or visit local stores.
We fit stoves as a business and our own wood burner is a Clearview.0 -

I really like the Clearview but is slightly out of our price range, we were looking to spend up to £700/800. Our front room is 5x5.25m so i think would need around a 4kw stove, but were thinking to get something a little bigger where we could extract the heat and feed it to other rooms.0 -
Do you mean have a back boiler or just a bigger output that will spread a bit further?
There are plenty of decent stoves on the market now. Look for air wash though, its so nice to have a clear view of the burning wood
Less pricey stoves - just some of them as I think - Stovax, Hunter, Douvre, Yeoman, Charnwood, Morso and the nearly as expensive as Clearview - Woodwarm. Try to see the stove actually working in a showroom. It always surprises me how people buy them without seeing them working. They may have the same output shown on the brochures, but they can vary enormously in controllability and performance. If you get a larger stove - get your local dealer to work it out for you - you could always have an eco fan to spread the heat. I think they can be about £70 on line. But be wary of getting a stove too big as you will end up running it on slumber mode a lot which is not good for the stove or the flue lining.
Oh and dont forget to check out your local ads as sometimes you can pick up a very good brand for a bargain price (we got ours from a pub that was closing)0
