If the buyer wants the game then they will pay the postage.
If however buyer chooses not to bother getting the item and to buy elsewhere then he just claims non receipt and gets his money back , which includes all of the original postage paid. That leaves sellelr out of pocket for the original postage.
There is no way at all OP can insist buyer re pays the postage to have it resent.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Personally I would tell them to pay for the second (recorded) delivery, or accept a refund. If you as a seller have already lost your rights through not posting within 7 days I'd refund them anyway. It's not the sellers fault at all.0

Wow thanks for all the responses.
The buyer has offered to pay the postage to re-send. Also, I'm not accusing them of being a scammer, I'm more concerned that the item may get lost in the post. But if this were to happen could I still claim from Royal Mail with just a certificate of postage?
I do believe that the buyer is genuine and I think I will have to re-send the game by normal post.
I have definitely learnt some lessons here, and thanks everyone for your advice and thoughts.0 -

All standard post is covered up to £46 for loss in the mail. Standard post includes 1st, 2nd with or without recorded. You just need to keep your proof of postage.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
