Well Yeah I agree, if you sign up for free balance transfers on a long 0% rate then customer care don't really come into it, you never need to contact them!0 -
Apparently only the "marketing" department can increase credit limits and they do it at their will, not upon request!0

I've had a card with a limit of £200 for nearly 4 years now, I asked for an increase once and got told that they'd increase it when they'd see fit. I think if you just have your card near to the £0 figure and used it frequently on small amounts and repaid it then they'd increased within 6months - a year. They better you are with it them more increases I think."I AM THE GATEKEEPER OF MY OWN DESTINY" Nacho Libre

I had a £200 classic card for over 1 year. They refused to increase the limit. Computer says no... " cought" haha. I was advised by them pay off my current card, then cancel it. Once canclled I reapplied and was given a plat card with £1000 limit.

please please please get rid of your cap 1 card. if you get into the stinky stuff with them they wont help you and will just pile on the penalty charges. in years they have charged me over 700quid in penalties. often for a late [payment of just 1 day because of stupid bank holidays and payments crossing etc.
you can tell they dont careabout customers from the response you get when u ask for a crdit increase........ computer says no.
Why not follow the thread on these boards and get your charges back? It's your money that has been taken unlawfully.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I got an ordinary Cap One card for the 0% to August 2007 and got £10,000 as my limit. I was astonished, as my experience is that I've tended to get lower limits on cards with BT offers, but this was one of the highest limits I've ever had. I've never tried to get an increase on it though...0

I've been in credit with cap 1 for a few months and they still won't increase. Anyone managed to get them to reduce the interest rate, ive got 19.9% and when i rang (when i wasnt in credit) they said no chance.0
