Media PC - VGA to RCA, RGB or SCART for SDTV

Hey.

I want to set up an old PC on an old big back SDTV (28") it has a red/white/yellow socket on the side (RCA?) and a Scart on the back.

I want the best possible picture. What output should I got for? I heard RCA would be the crappiest and that RGB would be the best but how would RGB look on an SDTV connected to RCA sockets?

The PC will be mainly used to watched films from the HDD.

Well it's due to the fact that each colour on a RGB cable is kept separate, unlike composite or RF cables, which tend to mix the colours and make subsequent screen output look murky and undefined.

Would it be better quality if I just went straight from VGA to Scart or should I get a VGA to RGB to SCART adapter?

Would I get the same results from VGA>RCA opposed to VGA>RGB>SCART?

I'll go check to see if the T.V supports RGB.

OK, yes, the T.V DOES support RGB, among other things like SVHS and S-Vid. AV1/2 etc. So which would be the 100% best option to go for?

You can't do VGA to SCART (RGB) without soldering a custom cable and possibly an I/O board.

The only thing you can do is something like the adapter I posted from Amazon. This converts the RGB signal output from the VGA to composite (single yellow RCA phono) or S-video.

Interesting. Thanks! You've saved me a few pennies. I can spend upto around £15 for the box itself, so if you could find me the best possible one I would really appriciate it.
