immediate help with talktalk conection please

Got a new modem yesterday after being without a connection for three days. The talktalk engineer on the phone decided that my PC and modem drivers had had a fight so posted me a new type in double quick time. I logged onto my webmail yesterday using one of the kid's machines and found i had over 300 emails to download so i got another kid to quickly install the new modemon my pc. today i've found that when i start outlook and it takes the mail from my server, i have up to 20 copies of each email and none of them are dated beyond the 20th of this month. i can't get any talktalk pages to load, even those cached by google so i can't ask them what's going on. Does anyone have any ideas? Could someone have a quick scoot over to the talktalk site and see if it's down? even if it is, why would outlook pick up the same mail time and time again? If I know there's something wrong at talktalk's end then i shall sit patiently while they sort it out but I suspect that my computer hates talktalk and isn't speaking to it so i may need to phone them tomorrow and ask them what's up? Please be helpful, I know a lot of people like to diss talktalk but I've always found them to be helpful, I was amazed at the speed with which they got the new modem out to me and although it costs me 10p a minute to call them (and it breaks my tight yorkshire heart as i watch the minutes ticking over), i love them for the amount of money i've saved when compared to my previous telecoms providers. Thanks in anticipation of help. OTG
