Blackberry £5pm charge, with no blackberry phone?
Hey all
I'd be interested in your thoughts prior to my complaint to my phone company.
I rang my phone company to find out about the length of my contract remaining to be told I was paying £5 per month for internet services for my blackberry. Perhaps this would have been ok if I had a blackberry, but I don't! I haven't for this current 24 month contract and didn't for the previous 12 month contract. At the beginning of the previous contract I had a blackberry for a week and then sent it back for being unsuitable for my purposes and so it was replaced with a better phone. But this was over two years ago and with a different contract currently (less per month with a phone not really suitable for interent browsing, let alone not a blackberry). It works out at over £150 i have paid for a service I have not used, and can't use due to the modle of phones I have had.
I would be interested if any of you could give me some pointers about what to say in the complaint that would mean I could get a refund ideally for the whole time I have had a service not suitable for my handset.
(Just in case, I don't get paper bills and pay by direct debit so I dont think I have ever checked my bill apart from the amount coming out each month. They said I should have checked my bill, which I agree, but I think it is appauling that even with a renewed contract and different phones they simply added on an extra charge despite seeing it could never be utilised).
Thanks for any of your help.

at the end of the first 12month contract were you given an upgraded phone from the network?
Also when you swapped the blackberry, how was this done was it in a shop or arranged over the phone?0 -
I think they are correct that it is inconceivable that you didn't check your bill for over two years.
However, if you are reasonable with them and can prove you didn't use data (look at your bills) then you might get a goodwill refund. Much depends whether thus is a mistake on their part or an omission on yours (in not cancelling the Blackberry Service)0
