Orange Argos PAYG with £60 question
Morning,
My Mam has been on Orange PAYG for the last 12 years (converted from my old everyday 50 contract!).
Her current phone is now on its way out, so thinking of replacing with the Argos Sony Ericsson W205, the £30 with 6 monthly free £10 top ups.
Does anyone know if this is 100% locked to the sim, or is there a way to transfer this onto her current number?
Thanks in advance, Phill.

Its attached to the sim.
What you'd have to do, would be move her current number to another networks payg and then move it back to the new Orange sim you get with the offer.0 -
Thanks for the quick reply
.
I'll probably just leave it then as her current PAYG orange deal is still the 5 free texts a day for life from 2000 lol.0 -
Dont you get a PAYG fund to buy a new handset from orange direct, dependent on how much you've topped up?

The 5 free texts a day are somewhat out matched by the hundreds of free texts you get now for topping up by a few quid. I'd think long and hard if that's the only reason you have for keeping it ??0

Thanks for the advice, I’ll check what she's "accumulated" through top ups.
I agree entirely about the 5 a day being very outdated. My Mam is quite old fashioned though; she refuse to change to a contract as she sees it as a debt or owing people something.
Plus she only sends a few texts every other day - and they're still in capital letters!0 -
I think you misunderstood. Even PAYG deals offer hundreds of free texts and minutes, beating your mum's current package.0
