I was a bit bothered about the weather...we're having a marquee wedding in 3 weeks, it's a very summer colour scheme, so sunshine will really make the day pop.

Then however, I read this, in a book of wedding readings the vicar gave us:
    "Sharing one umbrella,
We have to hold each other,
Round the waist to keep together,
You ask me why I'm smiling-
    It's because I'm thinking,
I want it to rain forever."
    — Vicki Feaver

Now I love the idea of a picture of the two of us cuddling under an umbrella, with that written next to it in the wedding album...We'll make the best of any weather :)

    I like that. Lots! :D

If anyone is looking for cheap brollys - I got mine from The Range. Clear ones with a coloured band round the base (just like the queen!) - mine was white and my bridesmaids pink. They were £3 each.

  • My sister got married 2 weeks ago, rain was forcast & it did throw it down in the morning, but stayed away the rest of the day. After speaking to her photographer the day before, she sent a text to a load of her guests asking them to bring their prettiest/brightest umbrellas, so even if it was raining, they could get some pics outside, with pretty umbrellas included! Maybe you could do this, so even if it is raining you can get some outside shots & i think it could look pretty!

You guys have cheered me right up thanks everyone, we got some huge golf brollies today very MSE, £3 each and I got some ribbon to cover the sports logo on the little fastener, otherwise they're plain black and will do the job. OH has alerted the photographer to my woes and he has sorted some large clear plastic sheeting to cart around when we get the pics done so I feel less panicked, think it's a last minute nerves thing as when we picked up the cake I had a little panic attack in the car, I have GOT to chill out! Thanks again, you're all wonderful :)

We got married on a stinking hot day, it was uncomfortable for everyone. I wish it had rained a bit instead. Good luck OP.

If will raise a smile when my sister got married, it was absolutely bucketing down and when the vicar asked if there was anyone who knew any reason why they shouldn't get married, there was an almightly clap of thunder.

Still married though 14 years later.

Hahaha this did make me chuckle. Don't worry about rain on your wedding day, the bright umbrella pics look fantastic and I have a feeling that by the point that your dress might get dirty you'll be so happy that you wont care one bit :) have a fantastic day xxx
  • To anyone worrying about rain, I saw this on Confetti http://www.bobbiandmike.com/blog/index.php/emilymatt-2/ just be glad you don't live in America. And the bride kept on smiling- there was nothing that was going to ruin her day!
