mobile phone contract problems

I am on a orange contract and my phone developed a problem. I sent it to be fixed but they could not fix it and could not replace it with the same make and model phone. They want to give me phones I do not like or want. I am paying £35 a month for my contract and feel if they do not replace my phone I should be able to cancel my contract. Any help on this would be great.

    Perhaps you could tell us when you took out the contract, what you paid for the phone, the length of the contract, and what phone it is?

    Sorry buit thats not the case, The conract for the phone is really two contract, once is for the hardware and the other is the service.

    If they phone breaks then they have to repair or replace the phone but that has no relevence to the contract it still has to be paid.

    They have to offer a phone of equal or better spec but thats all. Sorry it's not better news
  • I have had the phone(blackberry pearl) for 6 months and the contract is 18months. The phone company have had the phone over 6 weeks, they have offered me other blackberrys but they all have tiny keypads which will be to little for me to use as I have big fingers. All I want is another pearl but they say they do not have any. The service has been shocking, I have had to buy another pay as you go phone while I wait for the problem to be solved. Even if I have a contract there has to be a point when I can cancel. Companys can not just treat you how they want, have shocking customer services, not care about you just because you have signed a contract and you can not do anything about it. There must be something I can do, I just want a replacement pearl and I would be happy.
