Thanks for the info.
Not too sure about the whole LLU thing but the following is the package I was tempted with:
The All Rounder (unlimited downloads) £12.50 (6 months free then £5 off a month) so really only £45 for the whole year?
I'm just thinking there's got to be a catch somewhere! I'm currently paying £22.25 to Sky for Line rental and broadband - going to phone them and say I'm thinking of leaving because I could save £222 in the next 12 months. Just not sure they could even begin to negotiate on that!
I'm right in thinking I don't actually need a landline for this aren't I? I plan on keeping my BT landline anyway but for the benefit of Sky I was going to say I could cancel anyway...
So once your landline is disconnected, how do you think the broadband signal is going to reach your house?
No line rental, no ADSL broadband. No free lunch, and no free laptop

O2 "provide" the phone line if it's an LLU package. If not then a BT line is required.0

But the comment was 'I don't actually need a landline for this', which is incorrect. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Oh right, yeah. Mis-read that lol
But if O2 are LLU at his exchange, then he can transfer the whole line to O2 from BT and get 1 bill.0 -
I'm not suggesting otherwise, I'm just mentioning that without a landline, he will be somewhat disappointed with the speed of his shiny new O2 package...No free lunch, and no free laptop

Yeah, I'm agreeing with you.0

Was with O2 for two years on LLU package with rolling monthly contract.
The packages this year are not good and why they want people off the old ones.
Access has never been any good either. As hareng says, this is just a cynical ploy to tempt long-term subscribers off the much better legacy tariffs. No thanks.
I've been with O2 BB legacy for a while. Despite the warnings quoted above I decided to go for the new All-Rounder package. When I rang them they said I could stay on the legacy product and still have 6 months free. So I still have unlimited downloads. The only penalty is a 12-month tie in and no new router.0 -
Hi I pay o2 £9.50 a month for BB-was £7.50 til recently. Is this a legacy tariff? If so why is it better than the all rounder-apart from the £3 saved?0

Yes, that is the same legacy package as I have. Some say it's unlimited downloads (or perhaps a less restrictive fair use policy). It's possibly not throttled for P2P as the newer packages are.0 -
