has anyone fitted a ikea kitchen?

ive got to fit some ikea cabinets in our utility room, its about 8/9 units in total so not very big at all.
How do the wall cabinets fit to the wall (its a plasterboard dot and dab) ive read various site suggesting putting battons under the cabinets to take the weight of them.

any tips for the ikea kitchen fitting?

thanks

Best method would have been timber attached to the wall where the cupboards would be hanging from, plasterboard around it and attach direct to the timber - bit late for that. Use plasterboard anchors similar to this:

    or these:

Battens underneath are a bit bodgy TBH.

i was thinking of cutting out the plasterboard and fitting abatton to the wall underneath then mounting the cupboards on that, wont be easy as the mains fuse box is also in there so will have to be careful with the screws.

In that case I think I'd go for these:

We had kitchen planned by Ikea. I sat there in store for about 1.5 hrs going through it all with one of the women on kitchens and she was really helpful. The beauty of ikea is that you can do a plan online at home, save it then recall it when you are in store.

We decided to go with local company in the end but if we hadn't it would have been with ikea. They were doing £100 to spend in store for every £1000 spent but not sure if thats still on. Also appliances are all 5 year guarantee(think they are made by whirlpool)

The Ikea worktops are a little bigger back to front than many, 610mm if I remember correctly. Their units are a generous depth, so if getting a worktop elsewhere and it is the standard 600mm, you will have very little overhang and the door handles may stick out beyond the top.
    .
You should be able to get a deeper worktop elsewhere OK, just wanted to be sure you were aware that you needed to look for a suitable one.
