:hello::hello::hello: Hello fellow Devonians!!
Thanks for the heads up about Paignton, wonder if I can convince OH to go for a nice "drive" at the weekend. hahaha.

Some of us are having to find/stay up all hours to get bargains for xmas pressies because we can't afford to do otherwise. If i have to get 10 pressies at full price later on down the line we will have to do without food or similar for a few days/week. For some people it's a genuine need to save money on something that they have to buy. I nearly had my whole xmas list sorted for £16 but after my orders have been cancelled i will now have to buy elsewhere at a much higher price. Even just cheapish £5 presents will cost me £50.
I don't think it's very nice to tarnish everyone when there are those who need to get bargains compared with those who are just buying more carp for the sake of it.0 -
went to my local only to find a tiny cardboard shelving display with about 20 items on it
the sign in the window was bigger lol0 -
Tried 3 stores in Preston, found nothing of interest. Just ended up buying 3 Dove hair minimising deoderants for £1.50 purely because I felt like I should buy something after the effort of trying 3 stores! HaYou bowl like your mother. Unless of course she bowls well, in which case you bowl nothing like her

I managed to get 3 packs of size D Duracell Plus batteries for £2. We needed more after our 3-year old found the torch and left it switched on so that was gratefully found! I also bought some shampoo that I probably don't need just because it was cheap.0

I wouldn't mind if I saw the staff loading up their baskets in front of me as long as they kindly left SOME stuff for the general public!
''First dibs'' is absolutely FINE but it is nice if they leave SOME stuff for the customers , some of whom have made the journey especially and it IS disheartening to find nothing there when you get there! ( and I didn't even make a trip but can imagine its disappointing after the effort of going there especially hoping to find some lovely bargains , let alone the petrol money! )
People on here are just being HONEST so if you see being honest as ''moaning'' then fair play , don't bother reading it as I feel everyone has a right to have a wee vent on here after spending 4 hours online on a frustrating website for absolutely nothing = Within their rights to have a bit af a rant at least!!
I think its unfair to call the people who stayed up for the sale ''sad'' as the majority of people would have LOVED to bag some of the bargains which WERE online in the early hours if only they could actually get their hands on them ... 9p shampoo is not to be sniffed at0 -
edit: lol just noticed the post above. yes i admit. i'm one of the saddos who stayed up trying to get a bargain!
so after spending 5 hours on their website the other night and getting absolutely nothing i managed to make it to one of their shops for a prescription.
i got 3 for 1:
tens machine £10
air ioniser £7
solpodeine pads (for tens machine)£1.25
vicks nasal spray 50p
oral b interdental brushes 50p(toothbrush with tiny head)
vaseline body lotion £1.20
antibacterial spray £1
bodyfat analyzer £3
elastoplast silver plasters £1.05
strepsil 50p
acne lotion £3
vicks honey and lemon cough syrup 50
got some compeed plasters but they didnt go through the till so returned them. it was a real hassle as i only realised when i got home so it would be good idea to check receipt as some of the stickered items are not going through. ss was very nice and said she would hold them for me and check with the manager and i could ring them and come back for them if they were in the offer but i declined.
absolutely chuffed with my bargains. The original prices for the tens machines were £49.99 and £14.99 for the ioniser and body fat analyser!0 -
