Aerial Support claiming to be Sky

When they speak to you they say they are AMS Members Club and are ringing about your Sky maintenance contract.0

Best avoided by not having a maintenance contract at all (with either D&G or any of the cowboys).
They're completely unecessary-you might as well have a contract to maintain your water butt.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Just had them back on the phone to say they are offering me a discount as I have not claimed in the last year. She read out all my details including my debit card details and the code from the back. I said to her that I am still trying to get my money back from the last time you took it and that I have also tried to cancel with you and do not wish to continue with the contract., she then hung up on me. :mad:0

Hope you have cancelled that card!
They are not legally allowed to store all that information.0 -

AMS are just one of several companies that have systematically taken over £10,000 from an elderly relative over the last year by means of dubious sky cover, appliance insurances and unspecified charges against a debit card by means of continuous payment authorities. AMS appear to be related by business address or directors to some of the other companies involved. Their policy document is full of typos and looks like it was run off an inkjet printer. I would avoid.0

Why do people accept what they're told on a cold call as fact and then give sensitive financial information away?
Anyone can get your name and address (phone book, electoral roll etc.) so the fact that a caller knows those details is irrelevant.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
