yes I attended museums and galleries and cinemas and theatres and by all accounts was a quiet and well behaved child. partly by nature, partly my good upbringing.. sorry but I am sick of seeing kids running round screaming like banshees in places when their parents have apparently no control and no interest in controlling them or treaching them hwo to conduct themselves in a public place. The people with themkidsnwoukd have paid as well as the op. If the dresses are priceless lettignthem trail on the ground is not Anglos idea in case they suffer accidental damage but the designer may have thought it worth to show-off his dresses in the way he wants. Accidents happen and children cry. Did your parents never take you to a museum when you were young in case you cried opWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Actually children always scream is a huge generalisation. Some people have brought their children up to know how to behave in public. My parents have always told me I was a quiet and well behaved child, as are mine and those of a lot of friends and people I know.
I expect you did indeed keep your trap shut.. even at the age of 3 months! Bit difficult to reason with them at that age :rotfl:"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I don't have any issue with anyone taking their children anywhere - provided that the children are watched and, where necessary, restrained by their parents to ensure that they are not causing undue upset to other people. (I am trying to choose my words with care here!)
What I do have a major problem with is parents who do think it is their right to take their children anywhere and then just let them do whatever they like regardless of the fact that thir disruptive behaviour spoils the enjoyment of everyone else. I'm not saying that children shouldn't be taken to most places - just that their parents need to be sensible about where they take them and what they allow them to do. Most parents ARE sensible and considerate but there are a hard core who seem to think that their children have the right to do just what they like - and woe betide anyone who complains!
Its happened to me - I've paid to visit a presentation/exhibition and found that I can't hear anything thats being said because a small child has started to scream with boredom and, instead of taking the child outside to calm down, the parents have just added to the disturbance by shaking rattles, loudly opening bags of sweets/crisps and talking loudly to the child. Children do make a lot of noise - its part of childhood - but it doesn't have to cause disruption if parents are considerate.ELITE 5:2
