my DH swears by aqueous cream or cocoa butter - personally i have quite oily / spotty / combination skin so have to use an oil free sebum control one on the face area - usually a l'oreal one which is bit on the ch-ching side but it does stop me looking too pizza faced. i have patchy Seborrheic dermatitis so body wise i use oilatum which is about £2.99 but you only need a tiny bit and it lasts for ages. they also do a lot of free samples on their website (which are good for in your handbag), which is how i got into them. just google oilatum.
if someone is looking to splurge i had one of those aromatherapy associates moisturisers free with a magazine a few weeks ago and it was fantastic. smelled absolutely wonderful.0 -
Hi All,
Anyone got any money saving tips for face creams.
Moisturisers etc
. They can be very very expensive. And i need to cut back on things !!!
Argan Oil softens dry and rough skin. Due to its rich content of essential fatty acids, even more than Shea-butter, the argan oil of the Argan tree is the perfect moisturizer for your face and hands and the whole body. I buy at Hammam Ritual. they sell true pure and organic argan oil. best quality of argan oil, a luxury product. I recommend it to your face, hair, nails, and the whole body0 -
Another vote here for Lidl and Aldi's face creams etc. My Aunty who is 87, uses them, and she has got really lovely young looking skin (partly in the genes too), and for the bargain price, you can't really go wrong! I don't think I've heard anyone say a bad word about them.
I've also heard that they are comparable with some of the pricey high end brands, and when a test was done recently they came out on top (the Lidl ones I think), it was a blind test, so people didn't know what they were trying.0 -
Aldi day and night creams are amazing. Only thing that works on my skin as I have really sensitive skin.
I'm not fussed about whether it's anti-aging or like another brand, I like it because it does its job and is pennies.0 -
I had an allergic reaction to both the Aldi and Lidl creams. I tend to react to a lot of skin creams, but found that Nivea Visage Q10 Plus works for me. I use both the day and the night creams. They usually sell for £10 each which is far too steep for me, but they regularly go on sale for £5 each - I often find them at that price in Savers.0

I love this one from Superdrug which is regularly on offer and good for sensitive skin. I have tried lots but this is my favourite, no irritation at all plus sunscreen. £2.59 for 75ml or 2 for £3.50.

Generally, all the branded face creams are expensive but it is not a guarantee that it would be affective for you. If you don’t want to spend lot of money on these creams, you can prefer home remedies for your face. All you need to do is to rub the inner part of the papaya on your face. You have to let it dry and then wash your face with cold water. This will give your skin a nice glow. You have to do this twice a week. Its much better to spend some time for this home remedy instead of spending lot of money on expensive creams. 0

And they have removed the word gullible from the dictionary!
No Need for that.
Quite often the same cosmetic product gets sold to various cosmetic companies who then decide what price to sell it on for. This happens quite often with the toiletries you get in hotels. For example that 'posh expensive' freebie shower gel you think you're using could actually be Radox if you traced it back through production.
So it is actually possible.Casual Comper | Money saving Newbie.0 -
