How about Astral or Nivea? Good cheap products that do the job. They are a little too rich for me so i am using Oil of Ulay when needed (which isnt very often as i wash my face in olive oil). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi Sarah1
There's a thread on here somewhere which mentions aqueous cream - available from pharmacies and apparently dirt cheap and v.v.effective for dry skin etc. I haven't tried it yet, but it's on my list of things to buy as so many people have been raving about it.
Also, it'd be worth keeping an eye on the Boots Advantage Card machine if you've got one nearby. My last purchase of moisturiser from them was essentially free as they were giving away 400 points if you bought a product from a certain range (sorry memory is rubbish though I do remember it effectively being FREE!) - I had to hand over cash but the 400 points were worth a penny more than I paid.
I will let Judi answer the olive oil query - she mentioned it before - it's a good tip!0 -

Lush Dream Cream, it costs a bit more but it lasts for ages and I've even had reports from people who have children with excema that it has helped ease that too.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I have really dry skin and found the best budget moisturiser is palmers cocobutter stuff. For my hands I have a tub of cremiola which is way better than vaseline intensive care.0

Following from the olive oil idea - a have used MAYONNAISE in the past. Really good as a face mask, lie back and leave on for 10-15 mins and wash off. Its very moisturising. Marie Helvin (model-remember her? used to swear by it and her skin was beautiful) - also good as a hair conditioner but remember to rinse in cool water!
Avocado and lemon mashed up is also good.
For a good non-chemical face scrub I use olive oil and salt. Only a small amount as a little goes a long way. Mix it in your hands to a paste and gently rub it on face in circular motions. Then rinse. Its very good for knees, elbows, etc for prep when im going to apply fake tan."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye" - Miss Piggy0 -
Aqueous cream is the dog's bollards! My doctor recommended it and said it was better than things like cream E45 that contain lanoline.
It's an excellent moisturiser even if you have eczema etc and is dirt cheap, less than £2 for a big tub. I'm always finding new uses for it - eg you can rub it into your scalp after shampooing to prevent dandruff and make your hair look shiney.
Olive oil is good also, I use it for shaving, but I'm not too keen on the smell.
Petroleum jelly is also good for extreme dryness.'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0
