it is ok, your only a few miles up the road from skegvegas, where there are a few tourist places and the usual seaside resort stuff.

All the 'funfair rides' are in the same place, so you have the included in your price attractions (eg dodgems) in the same area as the paying ones. Each ride has a height restriction. Watch out if you have child that is small for their age. My small 8yo DD was not impressed that it was not suficient for me to sit on a horse next to her on the carosel with her strapped on, instead we were told we had to share a horse with her in front -like the toddlers! A stone's throw away she could have gone on a ride which spun her upside down in the air unaccompanied ...go figure.

Butlins Skegness is amazing for families...the fun fair is defo free, (there might be a couple of new things to pay for since last year) so is the swim pools, entertainment (list goes on forever but the britains got talent and x factor stars are just about to start their summer prog of entertainment at all butlins) If uve younger kids theres a free mini funfair, free playpark, free indoor play area, free lazy town shows, free panto, free puppet castle on and on etc etc & a theres proper striped deckchair and donkey ride beach private to Butlins!!

You should try it, theres everything u ever needed in a hol in one area! trampolines, go-karts, laser, cinema, bowlings, amusements, climbing wall, bike hire, crazy golf (all payable but you can buy activity passes making it much cheaper) and the surrounding area is proper British seaside, we love skegvegas itself but also ingoldmells (2 mins to the left of butlins) has fantasy island theme park and massive market, its amazing!!

I could go on and on, try it its amazing...we go to the caravan village and hire a private caravan, (google it) im sure the chalets are just as nice :-)

Go into the customer services and ask if they have any vouchers for Fantasy Island - or go on eBay and buy a couple of half price vouchers. My kids love it there and there are loads of rides there.

The rides in Butlins are free apart from Go Karts and bouncy castles, all the other rides are free. I wonder if bettybigboobs is thinking of those stand alone things which are not free (horses, cars, etc... in the arcades and Skyline)? They are cheaper in Ingoldmells though!

We stayed in there in May this year and most of the fair rides are free it's a great place to take young children as there's plenty to do and Skegness fantasy island is only down the road.

Skegness is great! There is plenty to do insure at Butlins, but if you find you have a spare few hours there's the seal sanctuary centre on the beach front where all the rescued baby seals are placed and nursed back to health before being released again. At Fantasy island there is also a Market where there are plenty of bargains to be had. As most have said already, the funfair at Butlins is all free apart from go karts and bouncy castles, and the usual little electric rides like you get at Supermarkets in the arcades cost money!
    Have fun!

look out for events at nearby skegness stadium,

the banger racing and monster truck events there are usually pretty entertaining and fairly cheap too.

Right i've only been the once, we went back in March time (theres a thread on here of me asking for advice before we went, anyway, ) We were in the silver apartments, so as we were walking down to the entertainment place, on the left before all the amusements etc is a merry go round, a stall where you shoot at a target, some teddy winning stalls, dodgems, go karts, (struggling to remember what else..erm...) a ride for teenagers, etc etc ...ALL OF THESE we paid for to use, my husband went on the shooting, my child went on a few, and i myself had a go at some of the teddy ones.
We also paid for the little kids rides inside the skyline place, and also to play crazy golf. We didnt pay for swimming, or Bobs barn because i wouldnt let my girl go to the fair again when the bobs rides where free. I know some of our party were ill on this break, but i wasn't delusional and imagined dishing out money when i didn't really lol...we 100% paid per ride for the fair.
    If it ain't reduced, i don't buy it! :j
