Cost of running electric boiler

My landlord is replacing my gas boiler with this http://www.heatraesadia.com/393.htm
What will the running costs be like in comparison to gas. I notice that they are designed for running on off peak electric but I only have a single rate meter!

Electricity is approx three times more expensive than gas - for a kWh.
However electricity is 100% efficient. Gas efficiency depends on the boiler and can be between, say, 60% to 90%(I suspect it will be closer to 60% if it is being replaced.
So I would think your running costs would double.
Not many people would replace gas with electricity. However as the landlord isn't paying the running costs and won't have to pay for the mandatory annual gas servicing and safety check, there is probably 'method in his madness'!!0 -
Thanks for your replies. The reason that they are putting in an electric one is that the flu is in the ceiling so all the ceiling would have to be taken down! So I guess its easier all round to fit this one. Under the new gas inspection regs the flu has to be inspected its entire length so inspection hatches have to be installed too!!0
