Hello, I took my daughters to claires accessories. I found them to be very careful with the hygene side. The only thing i didnt like was that it was done in the shop in full view of the public shopping there. Very good aftercare as well.It cost me 18 pounds with gold studs.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. It was about £14 at Claires Acccessories when I got my daughters done although that was a while ago now. They charged me £13 this year for one ear for my son, but I think that was because I still had to pay for two earrings. The ear piercing is free its the earrings you pay for. They give you a check up card to go back six weeks later and a bottle of cleaning lotion aswell. They took my signature away!!!!0

Do not go to Claire's Accessories. They use piercing guns, which are bad. They can't be cleaned properly, so you risk catching anything else that the people before you had (HIV or Hepatitis included - fun!). Then they tear the ear, which means it won't heal as well and will hurt more. And there's a high risk of going into body shock, particularly if your daughter is quite small.
This does not just apply to Claire's Accessories. It's anywhere that uses guns, which is places like hairdressers and chemists too.
My ears cost £14 for a proper piercing, done with needles at a proper piercing place, so you can't even claim that Claire's are loads cheaper. And the cleaning solution that Claire's give you is rubbish. All you need is a salt water solutionMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

Some independent jewellers will do it and it works out cheaper than Claire's. It isn't expensive, I paid less than a tenner for my daughter and bought the cleaning stuff from Boots.0

Both my girls had their ears pierced at Claire's without any problems - when my youngest had hers done they even got two members of staff to do her ears at the same time so she didn't have to go through it twice.
Just a word of advice before you have them done though - check with your daughter's school about their policy regarding PE/games/swimming. At my girls' primary school they won't allow earrings & they won't allow them to be taped over either. If you have them done now your daughter might have 6 weeks of sitting out of PE.0 -
For ears as young as your daughter's, I'd recommend a proper piercer - no Claire's Accessories, and no piercing guns..
The assistants at Claire's Accessories have been on a couple of hours training course (or similar) - that's all. For a 7 year old, I wouldn't like to risk it with a piercing gun to be honest. Infected ears can be very nasty indeed.0 -
i have had all my ear peircings done by a gun, never had any problems, also had ds ear done @ 6 months - no problems.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0

I had mine done twice about 10 yrs ago at Claire's (or Bow Bangles i think it was then!!) with no probs. Also took SD1 (age 11) there last year and they were very good.0
