Its ages ago since you were talking about connecting to other people's wireless connections but I have a funny story about it.

My dh set up our wireless but for one reason and another didn't password it. You'd think he would as he works in IT and very definately knows what he's doing

Anyway, I popped into my next door neighbour's for a coffee (she has a legendarily unbecoming tight streak) and I saw her wireless router or whatever its called hung up on her dining room wall light by a piece of string. The receiver pointing directly at the part of our dining room where our machine was. I looked at it for a few minutes and couldn't decide whether to mention it - but I did and she says "oh yes, my dh's router is in his study and he won't let me on it while he's working from home so i've found that I can just use yours - you haven't noticed have you." I went home fuming. Our broadband (the sum total of 1meg we're int'country) had been running achingly slowly and now I knew why!

The funniest part was she moaned that my husband protected it! And guess where her dh works - bleeding BT! Nowt so queer as folk.....

Finally had a win ... well i thought it was a freebie till i checked what i had entered. I won a beetroot calendar :j :j

Can't really count it towards the challenge as i don't think its worth anything. Im going to give it to my mum she loves beetroot (i cant stand the stuff!) but at the time i really needed a calendar so thats why i entered but i was given 3 for my birthday 2 weeks ago (must have been all that going on about not having one!!! now i have too many) :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just hope its the first of many prizes, hoping for something a little better next time .... maybe a CD or DVD or cash would be good :rolleyes:
