Ive been had!!!

It seems the company who have just persuaded me to part with 75 quid have been mentioned on here in the passed - Civil Enforcement Ltd!!

I received a "parking contravention notice" last week and paid the fine assuming that it was because I parked in a taxi bay earlier that day. I now realise that that wasnt the case and in fact I got the ticket when parked in a private car park whilst visiting a shop. I should have entered my reg number into a computer when in the shop but I had no idea that was the case and therefore didnt do that although I have no doubt that the shop would support a statement that I had been in there.

The trouble I have now is getting hold of Civil Enforcement Ltd to get my money back, all the phone lines are recorded messages and I cant find any reference to their address anywhere. I dont think they print it on the fine although I cant be sure as I chewed mine up and spat it down the phone in temper while paying the fine!!!!!! The shop do keep a copy of what's sent to impingers so I shall read it next time im in there.

If anyone here can offer advise on what I should be doing to recover my money I would be very happy to read on.

CEL are well known on here (albeit I'm a newb). I would rate your chances of getting a refund - without suing them - as slightly less than a snowball in hell. The address you have is correct I believe. The beneficial owner is a very secretive guy called Gary Wayne.

It wasn't a fine, and it is a pity you paid before coming here. Unfortunately you have no chance of seeing your money again. At least now you know better for next time!

As has been said there is zero chance of you getting your money back, im afraid you'll have to bite the bullet and put it down to a learning experience.

Frustraiting as it is you now know the system they and other ppc's use to get money out of you.

Unbelievable, its the sort of thing im normally good at get out of but for some reason this convinced me it was official and due - caught red handed. I paid it purely because I thought I had been photographed while stopped in the taxi bay, which I was a few minutes earlier in the same street. If it wasnt for that I would have taken this notice with rather more of a pinch of salt.

That said, with those addresses provided I will at least write attempting to get my money back. Call it an evening project. Ill keep you all posted with any updates.

It's not the parking companies that are stupid. it's the idiots who pay them and then come on here to discover that they had no need to pay.
