  • A friend of mine updated his contracted iPhone from 3G to 4 on the Orange carrier (£35 pcm). He was told of an offer, inhouse only, that as an employee of a stated public sector group his contract would be less, i forget the percentage but its better than nothing. Has anyone else heard of this deal?
  • I use the O2 carrier for my iPhone 4 and found a few not spots (where 4G signal is non-existant) is this an example of frustration that may be used to make the contract null in invalid / fit for use?

Just a few?rolleyes.gif You are lucky.

On a serious note, forget about this. This is not a ground for demanding cancellation. No network promises 100% coverage.

    BTW, what's 4G?

Yes - it's 25%. Apparently it's due to end soon. There are lots of posts about the same on this board.

We don't have 4G here in the UK - unless you mean HSDPA?
And no - all networks have 'not-spots'. No UK network gives a guarantee of service everywhere - so trying to use this as a contract 'get-out' will fall on totally deaf ears.

    Mea culpa  [STRIKE]4G[/STRIKE] 3G

    Mental note: Preview post!

As for the 25% offer it seems its a deal that embraces all employees; non-teaching as will as teaching staff: a copy of your last pay statement and that does the trick.

The discount is also available to NHS/Emergency Services (police/fire etc) - but I remember reading a post a few weeks back that stated that Orange would be stopping this discount from August this year. It's called "Orange Perks" by the way.
