yes, I was able to change ownership details there and then, and if I had the correct apperwork, insurance/mot I could then tax it, the V5 wouldnt come through for a week or so tho, done it several times now:)

    you are muddying the waters
you say you had all the v5 OP only has a year old used section 10 slip
    you say NI
we is in blighty (the big bit:D)

so what you are saying is irrelevant here:)

I did mention the NI bit previously, if I had it all or not, they wernt interested in the rest, they just took the green slip and as I said they just threw the rest back at me, didnt even look at it. Anyways, if it were me i'd give it a go, maybe get a day when the dvla staff arent working in a dark cloud and maybe helpful;)

the giving the green slip to the customer thats already been used and not sending the log book to swansea is a well known tactic used to punt clocked and stolen cars
    be warned OP

I was with him when he ripped out the green slip from the log book and I took the slip to the PO myself to tax it :)
  • Not sure if the DVLA will do it when the green slip is stamped but I did it with an unstamped green slip when my V5 took ages to come through last year. You just go to the counter with your MOT, slip and insurance details and pay them.

Do not attempt to drive your car without tax, it is illegal!
