Sort code of Abbey National now Santander account

Hi,

I had an Abbey National "Flexible Saver" account (or I think this is what it was called) which then became a Santander one.

When Santander sent me the cash card (which is red and has a Cirrus symbol on the back) the attached letter included my account number but not the sort code.

I was wondering if anyone knew what the sort code is for this account?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. However, the 8 digit account number I was given is something completely different to the one you've mentioned, and I wasn't give any reference number. Are you sure that is the correct sort code?
    Thanks again.

Unless you want the OP to give his money to Santander rather than put it into his own savings account he should not use that account. Its the holding account belonging to the bank.

The Abbey/Santander sort code is 090127 followed by the 8 digit account number.

Thanks a lot. Is that definitely the sort code for the account I mentioned?

The original Abbey one years ago, but I received the new card last year after the Santander take over. I'm not sure if it's classed as the same account.

    I'm afraid you are incorrect.

The 090127 XXXXXX format is used for Cash ISAs and bank accounts.

Other savings accounts use the roll number format consisting of a letter followed by a series of numbers, then followed by a three letter surcode.

Funny I have a Savings account from when it was abbey and it has its own sort code and account number and no mention of a roll number.

It will depend on when you opened it. The really really old Abbey sort code is 090126 but it has been 090127 for the last 6+ years.

Just call them and ask them what the sort code is. There is no roll number with savings accounts to my knowledge.
  • hello!

I work in santander and for the flexi saver the sort code is 090000 acc no 00050005 and please ensure the rerference no is it this will be a letter usually R and 8 numbers then 3 letters at the end (the first 3 letters of ur surname or leading name on acc.

The 090126/ 090127 and now 090128 sort codes srre used for cash ISA accounts and current accounts.

If i was u i wouldnt bother saving in the flexi saver- interest rate is verry low, dependant on balance max rate is 0.5%

    hope this helps
