It depends on what you are into really. Hunstanton has the Searles holiday camp which I used to take the kids to decades ago and I dont think it has changed much! Very family orientated place.
Sheringhams a nice little town, lots of little shops and cafes and the steam railway plus the big swimming centre with all the waves and flumes the kids liked.
Cromer is more sedate - it was a favourite of my gran and mum.
Great Yarmouth Id do as a day out at the funfair as its not a very salubrious place now unfortunately.
But there are so many places in between too. For bird watching and more country pursuits, north norfolk (Chelsea on Sea) is the place, like Cley and Burnham Market.
Overstrand has a fab beach but nowt much else really although you can walk to Cromer from there if you are into walking. The White Lion pub in Overstrand does the most wonderful food at good prices for the quality.
Weve been to winterton when the only people on miles of beach have been us! We take the dogs there a lot and there is a little cafe on the dunes for a cuppa.

I'd agree with what most people have said thus far. I'd just add that Walcott, and its super and very reasonably-priced fish and chip shop, Kingfisher, is worth a visit.
Now you've got me thinking about fish and chips, Dave's Special at Dave's Fish Bar (not Dave's 2 though) in Sheringham is probably the best value sit-down fish and chips. Mary Jane's in Cromer is okay if you can put up with the my-little-pony-meets-wimpy decor and the flat fizzy drinks. Best fish and chips in Wells is French's.
Cafe at Winterton does very good bacon baguettes and coffee for the local dog walkers (me included). I've just realised I'm hungry...
The Splash swimming pool in Sheringham is very useful when the weather turns bad and is reasonably priced for a pool with a wave machine and slides.
My wife loves taking our kids to Joyland in Yarmouth, where my wife used to go when she was a child. You spend a fortune in tokens for the traditional rides but I wouldn't be surprised if UNESCO make it a world heritage site one day.0
