I have a salary sacrifice lease car scheme at work which we have decided to use it to get a new car. There are two of us, plus two kids (3 and 1), we want a car with plenty of boot space and room, I do 300 miles per week for work as well, so I reckon a diesel is a must.

I've narrowed it down to 6:

    Mazda 3
    Seat Leon
    VW Golf
    Audi A3
    Citroen C4
    Peugeot 308

Cheapest to most expensive is about £20/month difference, so they are all about the same price. Any advice on what to go with, anyone who maybe has one of these? There also seems to be a baffling number of different models, so any recommendations there would be appreciated.

How is the Ford Mondeo not on the list ?

By being a size (and a half) up from all those listed:).

yep, I did actually get a quote on a Mondeo but it was about £50pm more expensive than the ones listed. I don't think we need that size of car atm.

Leon test drive on Sat :)

When booking/going on the test drives, should I be upfront that I won't be purchasing from them or should I just make out as if I am looking to buy?

Tell them you're interested in buying from them. That way you get a test drive and a brochure with all the info. When he calls up a week or so later then just tell them that you've bought something else.
