Direct Line PPI Contact Help?

Hi All

I had a loan with Direct Line which started in February 2001 and completed February 2006.

PPI was on this loan and I was advised at time that the insurance had to be in place as part of acceptence and remember it clearly.

What address would I send it to as I think RBS has taken over Direct Line loans haven't they?

Big thank you

We had a loan with them several years ago (2002 - 2005) and as I couldnt find any agreement number I have recently sent a SAR request to Direct Line and they have contacted me directly (not via RBS) from this address:

    Direct Line
    Waterside Court
    Chatham Maritime
    Chatham
    Kent ME4 4RT

And the telephone number they asked me to contact them on is:

    01634 895322

    Hope this helps

Brilliant, thank you so much for that and good luck your end ;)
  • DizzywithMoney is correct regarding the address for Direct Line Subject Access Requests.
However, when we then contacted them to ask what information they needed from us they gave us the direct address to send our claim letter too. We've received an acknowledgement letter already.

Claim or complaint? If its a claim, you contact the insurer and tell them you wish to claim on the policy. If its a complaint, you contact the seller telling them why you think they mis-sold it.

  • RBS owned Direct line. When I approached DL they asked me to write to RBS, Manchester . I then had to raise a SAR to their office in gogarburn in Edinburgh.

Anybody had this issue. my loan was taken in 1999.

Looks like a spammer building post count to enable links

    EDIT
That 0870 number looks well dodgy. On other threads the poster concerned is saying it refers to different agencies.

Sorry to bump a historic thread but it seemed silly to start a new one

We're currently trying to locate details for a Direct Line loan my wife held

We've traced the loan it was used to consolidate and have a rough idea of the dates it ran for before again being consolidate into another refinancing and being paid off

However, RBS have refused to look into the question of PPI until we have located more of the details for the loan, based on the details we have provided so far

I'm assuming a SAR is the best way to obtain this information

I tried to contact Direct Line to see where to send it
    Direct Line
    Waterside Court
    Chatham Maritime
    Chatham
    Kent ME4 4RT

    I haven't heard anything

Would it be better to send the SAR to RBS or is there an alternative location?

  • I had a car loan with Direct Line in 1999-2004 and was informed PPI had to be taken as part of the agreement. When I phoned them at the tail end of last year, they stated they only keep their records for 8 years. Would a SAR request help in this situation?

Having moved house since this time, I don't have a copy of my loan agreement. All I do have is an old bank statement which demonstrates the payment coming from the account

Any direction would be much appreciated
