Car Hire Tenerife

Hi All,

First time I have posted in this section.

Going to Tenerife this Friday and looking to hire a very basic run around for a week.

Am looking for any advice from anyone that has rented a car out there, I want to use a company that offers a Fair Fuel policy and not one that I have to purchase a full tank of petrol on arrival.

I ordered a car this morning through Car Hire 3000, and fell for the cheap car but did not realise that had to buy a full tank of fuel when you get there, I won't be using a full tank and I have heard they can charge what they want. Lucky I was able to cancel it.

So any suggests of companies out of Tenerife Airport SOuth with petrol policy of, you bring it back with the same amount of fuel you received it with, would be much appreicated.

Just for future reference: We used Auto Reisen. They don't charge for excess cover. Just return the car with the same amount of fuel. We booked the smallest and cheapest car possible and got an upgrade to a four door. Excellent service.

The trick is to book several months in advance for the best prices. You pay when you pick up the car, rather than when you book; the only risk is the exchange rate moving. For us, two weeks rental cost £120 in total. Happy to recommend.
    Wearing my other one today.

    Again, as above
    Go for autoreisen
Out here now with one, brand new seat Ibiza, free booster seat for granddaughter, and only refill the fuel you have used
    On
OnlY thing was it seems everyone is now thinking the same, so the queue was longer than normal this time, but still much quicker than most of the other rentals

    I use Pluscar
    http://www.pluscar-tenerife.com/en/index.html

No silly fuel rules or insurance top ups, pay by cash, credit card or debit card.
Very straight forward to deal with

If they have one, payless are great. Used them in fuert; 80 euro for week, no excess insurance, for a basic vehicle. Take the car back with same amount of fuel. Owned by cicar but 40 euro cheaper.

    I only ever use:

    in the Canaries.

One of Cicar's companies, but cheaper.

    Fare fuel policy.

    Fair insurance policy.

    Good value.

Was looking at AutoReisen do I need to take out one of the policies that cover the excesses rather than paying for the super cdw?

Also I only have a paper licence, no photocard licence as I have never had the need to change it. Will that be ok as I will have my passport?

I've had bad experiences with AutoReisen, particularly with quality and age of cars.

Try Cabrera Medina as in my post above. Zero excess unless they have changed recently.

Your passport will be OK to support your paper licence.
