For those that want free iphone 4 on upgrade

Well on phone this morning to 02 and they say to get the Iphone 4 for free i have to come off my 45 quid taraff and pay 67 quid a month.. well i said no and that 3 offered me free iphone 4 for 30 quid a month. 02 says well it not on their website (but it was deal we had on phone but didnt take it up.)

So got pac code of 02 and gave em 30 days notice. Look on web to get free Iphone 4 and vodaphone doing it for free on a 42 month contract (there network rubbish here in Devon), and phone4u do a deal for free iphone 4 on 02 at 42 quid. So back on the phone to 02 and told them.

They cant do fone4u deal as that a 3rd party offer.. ok what about vodaphone offer can you match that.. best we can do is free (white) iphone for 42 quid a month... you said you could'nt do that.. well i can if it keep you with 02??? what are these people playing at??? they also told me 3 network is rubbish all over the country.. lol you would say that..

So for those that want free ip[hone 4 upgrade shop around and tell them!!! they will try and match it :)

It makes no sense to quote the monthly price (£42) while saying nothing about the monthly allowances and the term (I guess 24 months).

I don't know what your airtime requirements are, but iP4 16 is available for 24x£35

I used O2's price match for a retention deal for my OH. He was on the £30 300 min tariff, they weren't interested. Then I mentioned that the earphone warehouse were doing a deal for £35 a month, 600 mins etc and free phone. The advisor price matched it onto the £37 O2 tariff. Not quite the same price, but free white iPhone 4 and tethering as part of the package. He was more than happy to accept that, and cheaper than what you are getting offered just now.

I was on the 35 quid a month one with 600 min but kept going over.. so hence 900mi and notice it unlimted txt for 42 quid.. i notice on the 1st call that he would price match. When he search 3 web site the offer they offered me wasnt on 3 web site so when i walk pass phone4u and saw 42 quid with (02) i rang again as i stated in the orignal post

£42 per month for 24 months is £1008.

it is cheaper to buy phone outright from apple store for £510 for 16gb one you can also get 3% from quidco aswell.

then get a giffgaff sim and choose the goody bag best suited to you.

To be fair to the OP, even at giffgaff 800 minutes cost £20, let alone 900.

510*(1-3%)+24*20=£975, i.e. you pay only £33 for £500 2-year loan. And I stopped relying on quidco long time ago.

It's not that I advocate taking £500 loan to pay for a toy even if it were an interest-free loan. Neither do I paying £500 upfront.

:eek::eek:! 42 month contract? I hope that is a typing error!

  • sorry yes 24 months also sold my other one 150 quid down to 850... but checking on website contrack ends jan 2013 so must be 18 months....

I can see ur point but then do
    1008 -510 = 498
then 498 / 24 = 20 quid.... i be racking more of a bill on that. I went to contract as before i was spending 50-60 quid a month and dont forget the 3g usage...
