    ZZZzzz....

    Anyway, where were we?

Has anyone ELSE got any cute phrases for poor activities on Ebay??

As I stated a long time back, I thought FREIGHT RAPE was a good PHRASE.

    Any other thoughts/suggestions?

freight rape, good, i like that phrase :-)

postage costs don't bother me, i always bid on what the total cost including postage will be, i don't care if the seller sets high postage but low bid amount to save themselves some money on the ebay fees, makes no difference to me. if a seller doesn't specify postage costs i ask a question, if they don't reply i don't bid. i just bid on something for 99p but the postage is ten pounds, lol!

im with you on that jelly head. the total price is the important bit, i dont mind if i pay a low bid and high postage as i know what the total will be, if the total seems too high then i dont bid. I have no problem with ebay loosing money by people doing this. I also dont mind getting an item by second class post, this seems good business sense, keep overheads low, maximise profits, good for seller, buyer knows costs before hand so everyone should be happy

I always include the weight of the item that I am selling (including the packaging) and a link to the Royal Mail Postage calculator eg...

The Shipping Weight of this item is about 500g, please use Royal Mail Postal Calculator for alternative UK and International postage estimates.

The Postal Calculato is also useful for buying Branded products that you can get a weight of - I recently got a pannini press for £15.00 in last few seconds of the Auction - post cost not specified. on asking Postrage came in at £20 (Typo but another term for the dictionary perhaps!) but I was able to use the calculator and the inetrnet to work out the cost would be less than a tenner - the seller reduced the postage to £10.00 - 50% saving!!

Also don't forget that it is a P & P cost - not just postage - so the cost of any packaging materials can reasonably be charged - reasonably being the operative work - when ever possible I re-use bubble wrap, boxes and padded envelopes (My 1952 Landrover is off the road at the moment and is doing excellent "shed" impersonation on the drive!!)

    Cheers

I've actually had someone charge me £3 postage, and then deliver it by hand

Does anyone else think that this thread has gone totally OT besides me and Riz? Nobody was actually complaining about being OC for P+P and what to do!

    Hey Bargainbabe. (Kiss)

Thank heavens for that. I thought I was losing it.

I made a mensh a while back but gave up and thought I'd just let them get on with it.

Like flies to sh*t it seems that it has attracted many of lifes moaners.
