I have decided to take a step back from the thread next week so won't be joining you.

This place has been a great source of freindship, support, laughter and a fun way of dealing with the boring task of housework and home making. I have not always been successful in keeping on top of the housework but without the thread and every contributor we would be in a far worse state than we are now. I have made many new friends as a result of the thread and met some of you in RL :) and hope to meet more in the future.

Recently however I have felt that the whole ethos of the thread has shifted away from the aim. In particular it seems that man bashing for man bashings sake is almost an obligatory requirement. Whilst I can appreciate and empathise with those who have troublesome men at this time there are plenty of men who will help (abliet with much persausion required for some). I so wish my DH was here so he could help me but that is not to be, hence my reason for giving the thread a break.

    Au revoir for now.

AnW'sMum - been thinking of you all week and wondering how you are. I feel so lucky that today DH and I have been together for 20 years (but guilty too for you if that makes sense).

I too have not been enjoying the thread for a while and I note that many old posters are still missing. Please can we try to get back to what this thread is about and if people have dirty laundry to air maybe they'd like to do it on the families board or in DT where I'm sure there will be many posters who want to join in.

I'm going to see how the week goes on here but I too am thinking of having a break for a while.

For now some online banking and ironing are top of my priorities.

This should help those that are curious... may I mention that the phrase "The World's Healthiest Diet" would not get past the Advertising Standards Agency...

This pretty much sums up how I feel about the thread at the moment and I have moved away from it too. I popped on just to post what I had done. I can do it on my own now no problem and keeping motivation going but I really miss the tone of how it used to be. It's changed quite a bit this year - no hard words or feelings meant though.

Dusty, AnW's, fedup and everyone else - I've just taken a good look at myself and how I may have contributed in the past to changes on this thread. I've noticed them, too, and am missing many posters who were around when I first joined.

I don't like change, as a rule, and will think a bit more carefully about what I post in the future. Hope to see all of you around for a long time yet, as I'm far from being able to do it by myself. x
