How do I pay in Portugal

Hoilday in Portugal in October. Hotel quoted in pounds sterling. Best way to pay safely??:)

Pay in Euros. Ask the price in Euros. If they want Pounds in cash, negotiate a discount.0

I would ask to pay in Euros on my credit card.0

I imagine Portugal will still be in the eurozone then, but you never know!0

Number of things come to mind:
1) Is this a booking with a UK Agent? If so, pay in the UK with £, preferably on a credit card.
2) If not, the Hotel may be preparing to scam you on the exchange rate. Get the price now in € and compare the rates on xe.com. Then haggle.0
