Useless multiquote function

When dealing with complex arguments involving several posters, a multiquote that worked would be quite useful.
Practically every time I have tried to use the one at this site it was more trouble than it was worth.
I suspect it has a nervous breakdown when you try to quote from more than one page. At any rate typically if I try to quote 5 posts, 3 will come up, when I try then to include the other two, one new one comes, two vanish and another one is repeated twice.
It is a bore to copy post by post but multiquote wastes even more time.

Sorry my posts so long - not time write shorter ones.

Works fine for me

Across several pages of a large thread e.g. 100+ posts"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

And me.

But only, as far as I know, for the last 3 posts you tried to multiquote, so if I select 5 posts I get the last 3.
What I sometimes do if I know it's getting complicated / quote heavy is multiquote 3, right click on 'post reply' to get them into a new tab, carry on multiquoting and do the same again until I've got all I want, then copy and paste all my open 'post reply' tabs into one box. If that makes sense ... Then I type my responses.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Maybe this is like going to the doctor and your symptoms vanish. Three at a time eh? Looks like it, does it say that anywhere? You have to know, and now I do - I tried to quote my OP in the above - so now I know I can work it for as long as I remember that but it's not good enough I say.Sorry my posts so long - not time write shorter ones.0 -
I'm not sure if it says it somewhere, or if I worked it out, and trying to remember which is tricky for me ... :rotfl:Maybe this is like going to the doctor and your symptoms vanish. Three at a time eh? Just takes a bit more work to do more than three.

I can see where Ted is coming from, as it happens. You don't always realise you've multiquoted more than 3, and you find some are missing, and it's a PITA to go back and find them again. At that point I usually resort to "someone said this" or similar, without actually quoting.Just takes a bit more work to do more than three.
