Fair Trader did a poor job, what do I do?

Thanks everyone, well I had no option but to have them round again to sort out that leaking valve - someone came out the next day. It's a long story, but the plumber sent was asked to do a powerflush by the company while he was here to sort the leak, but he said to us that we didn't need one, that what we had done before was sufficient and to ask for a reduction. I also rang consumer direct and the fair trading scheme earlier on in the week. I don't want them round again, it's been a waste of my time, nothing's been rectified as asked, so yes, I may as well write to them explaining this - although I'd like consumer direct or an authority to do it, coz I don't want to be upset any further in my condition.0

Photograph each fault so you have evidence.
Document each fault in writing.
Give the firm copies of this document.
Make it clear (in writing) what you want them to do.
Do NOT mention anything else. You don't have to write an essay to justify your claim so don't mention wages, individual prices or anything else. It's all irrelevant and merely gives them ammunition to argue. As far as you are concerned, the job simply wasn't finished to the required standard.
Pay 60% of the bill immediately and 40% when the work is completed to your satisfaction. That shows "good faith" on your part and will help if they decided to sue you in court for non payment.
Note: it's spelt "immersion" not "emersion". (You look less stupid if you know how to spell the words).0 -

I have photographic evidence of everything I'm not happy with, I have also documented each fault/damage made etc. I only went on about wages etc to get my point accross on here, but I agree, not relevant when it comes to doing something official about it. As for payment, I will wait for advice given by consumer direct/fair trading scheme. I always get the two spellings confused, hehe, this should reinforce it, thanks. It always bugs me for example when people go on about a toilet system, not cistern. That's more stupid than spelling mistakes. lol. As far as I'm concerened though, they have had enough chances to right any problems, and I don't trust them to do any more work without damaging anything. I'd rather keep back some of the money to get someone in to redo things properly. Maybe I should charge for redecorating the whole house? LOL, quote them £10,000, and get a 1st year student to do it for £25 a day.0
