Big hugs to Tappers and her DS xxx

Redruby - I am with BB, I'd leave your mum for a bit longer. I know it must be killing you but I think this time she needs to realise how much actually needs you xx

Lou - never rains but it pours :( Feel better soon honey xxx

Took kids for picnic at Burton Dassett. Who knew that little flies would be attracted to anything white or cream coloured  so consequently spent time with a mass of flies swarming overhead <shudder> Needless to say we didn't stop long and went to the lakes instead. Feel shattered and I've not done much :o

    Afternoon all,

Sunny day here, has been warm for last few days so am having to water every day....really feel I should probably do greenhouse twice a day but am too lazy! Have left clothes on line for days too....must make an effort to take them in as am running out of space for more and there's a wash in the machine.

We had lamb chops, broccoli, cauliflower, onion and celery for dinner....OH was cooking and can't resist anything he finds in the fridge....he went off to the shop just to get frozen roasties as I said that I didn't think the new potatoes were suitable for roasting....what a waste of petrol and money, he doesn't understand when I bi**h about him doing that kind of thing!

Hugs to all of you who are having a bad time for whatever reason, especially Lou, get well soon pet.

Hester, congratulations on keeping your shop to such a small amount this week....I am always trying to keep things down so that there is a little over to help if some of the family need it....of course my own little 'adventure' with the car in Sardinia did serious damage to my savings, need to put some of that back together so that there will be a cushion just in case.

Going to go on a forage in the garden in a bit, really want some pudding and don't fancy the apples or bananas that are in fruit bowl, might get a few berries and couple of sticks of rhubarb to stew and munch with some yogurt.

    Have a good evening everybody

Hugs to you Taplady, this parenting lark is very trying at times, I hope things work out. My DS1 and Fiance called in yesterday and it was very civilised, first time we have seen her since we had a bit of an argument a few months ago. It seemed to go ok, I had to go out to work after about half an hour and left DD with them for a while (Fiance doesn't like DD for some unknown reason) and they were quite civil to each other so that's a step in the right direction. Hopefully things will get better as the baby is due in 7 weeks.

Keep thinking about all those with the relatives and friends with cancer issues, brings back too many memories. Medicine has come on since OH lost his fight but I hope you are all keeping positive. You have loads of support on here - something I wish I'd had at the time - you are all a good bunch. Remember to keep asking questions and consider help when you need it.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

Sun still shining, have cleaned out the chicken coup and just going to get the washing in. Just ordered new furniture for the garden to be picked up tomorrow, don't like sitting outside on the horrid furniture we have, keep thinking it will collapse! It's also so heavy (probably the only thing that doesn't blow away here) that it's too hard to move round the deck. I have treated myself to a steamer chair so I can relax. Bound to rain now!

    Take care. XX

    Afternoon all

I've spent the majority of today (and yday!) sunbathing :D either on balcony or beach. Bliss. Needed a chill out though. I've read one and half books too. Off out to cinema shortly, going to treat myself to an ice cream there.

    ((((lou and molly and tappers))))

I'll be MIA now til Thurs evening as I'm away with work kids (wish me luck!!) so have a good week all

Hugs to those who need them and hope Lou gets out of hospital soon.

Im just back from a shopping trip to MK. I spent the whole time saying "Sorry" as I just seem to get in the way being on my mobility scooter. In the end the shop assistant dared me to stop saying it as she said I had every right to be there as much as the able bodied. I hate being at crotch height as people just dont see me and bash me with their handbags or walk into me and then scowl at me. Anyway we had to buy DS3 some clothes suitable for his work experience but got his favourite jeans with 75% off in Debs and some other bits. DD needed some jeans and found some in M&S (much to her surprise).

Taplady - I sympathise as I wish that my eldest son would also get his life sorted. We are always picking up the pieces and often wonder how much longer it will go on :eek::eek:

Another day to be just got through I think. Im having quite a few of them at the moment. Kids Dad and I are both tired and need a holiday. Hugs x

I know exactly where you are coming from re using a mobility scooter; people are so bl**dy ignorant. I have lost count of the times that I have been hit with bags and baskets and being tutted at because I have the gaul to be in their way.
The ones that make me laugh are the ones with trolleys in a supermaket who race in front of you, never been able to work that out

Hi All! had a lazyish day today - church this morning, but no choir for me as the junior choir led the service today, including providing instrumentalists to play during communion and at the end. Talented bunch of youngsters we have!
Lunch was roast lamb (DH dealt with that). Actually remembered we have mint in the garden, so homemade mint sauce! I made a spiced apple pudding with oats and raisins. (Microwave, so minimal effort!)
Beds changed, sheets washed and dried, all towels washed and by now probably dry too. Have spent afternoon watching the tennis.
Tappers, I do feel for you - sometimes I feel we'll never be done picking up the pieces with DS2. It's just such a strain waiting for the next crisis to hit, isn't it? Actually he's had a great day - he was invited to the cast and crew premiere for the new Harry Potter film this morning. Apparently it's absolutely brilliant! I think it goes on general release later this month, after the "posh" premiere!
Need to get my self sorted this week - the decluttering has taken far too long. We have a set of DH's Australian cousins arriving in just over to weeks so I absolutely MUST get it sorted quickly now!
Sorry to hear Lou is in hospital. Hope all goes well for her.
(HUGS) to everyone else who needs one too. Take care.

    Evening all

Parmesan chicken and roasted vegetables with new pots for tea. Hope it all turns out well as I haven't cooked it before.

OH spent the afternoon gardening and DS cleaning and vacuuming his room, changing bedding etc. Result! I cleaned the kitchen and cooked the meals. DS almost human these days and his broken toe is getting better. Don't ask-he stubbed his toe on the radiator pipe and fell flat on his face. One toe strapped to the other and no driving......OH and I are running a taxi service to work and GF.

We went to the garden centre this morning and got lots of whoopsied plants. Not done that before.....pinks 50p, snapdragons 50p, pink daisy things £1.50. OH well chuffed! He actually spotted more plants being brought out and sticky labels and asked the woman politely " are you reducing those pinks?" i'm proud of him.

We have also eaten some home grown lettuce and the spring onions are nearly ready. Anybody know if rubarb can be eaten in the first year? Ours has very thick stems. I have a vague idea that we need to force it overwinter for next year.

Hugs and kind thoughts for everyone who needs them esp Lou, the Jackies and those supporting children and grandchildren.

    Have a good evening.
