Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 3rd July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I have 2 loads of washing on the line, that may be the sum total of my OS activity today as I'm still recovering from having all 3 of the DGC over yesterday whilst DD2 & SIL were working. They were very good & did lots of colouring in & drawing, they also watered the garden very thoroughly, lol.
I managed to make a fish pie for DD2 to take home with her when she collected them, so she didn't have to worry about getting a meal ready.
I did a freezer audit yesterday as I need to spend as little as possible this month, my savings have been wiped out by the Handfasting, car tax & car insurance, so I need to build them up again. I also want to help DS2 who is going into hospital & will be off work & on SSP for 2 months, he currently lives with DD2 & he will not be able to pay her his full rent til he goes back to work, so I want to help out if I can. I listed what I have in my freezer & the meal plan on my blog, this weeks shopping was just over £5, thankfully, the garden is providing lots of veg at the moment.
Have a good day everyone
Hugs Hester

Morning HH and Silvermaid and all who follow

Another glorious day here :) which means more sunbathing on balcony for me! I can't wait til I move so that way I can sunbathe all day on the 2 balconies cos at mo I lose the sun around 1pm!

OS wise - WM is on and will go out to dry, just sorted through some paperwork (filing and shredding), DW will go on later too.

I'm away with work Mon to Thurs so need to pack and I need to use up some fresh stuff for lunch today. Also need to pop to shops to get some supplies, but that could wait til first thing tomorrow if needs be. I do wish Sunday trading hours were longer! Also off to cinema tonight with the girls.

    Have a good day all

    Morning everyone,

Another beautiful day here. WM is on and I am up early again to take DD2 and a couple of her friends to a bowling party.

DS is away on Duke of Edinburgh and DD1 is at a sleepover so the house is very peaceful this morning. I am making the most of it with a cup of tea and a sit down.:D

Had a great time at the party last night, it is a long time since I have been in the city on a saturday night, the young people at the party were amazed that I was happy to get the bus home, they seem to get taxis everywhere.

Hester How do you manage a weeks shopping for £5? I wish I had your budgeting skills.

Hugs to all that need them especially Sistercas, JackieG, JackieO, Redruby and Lou

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Good Morning everyone .A beatiful day here as I can see clearly across the River Medway (always a good sign) Eldest DD is coming this morning to show me her photos of the Take That concert she went to yesterday . After she has gone I may take myself off to do a big shop as having sorted out what I need for the month I am hoping to do one shop to last me the rest of the month.I have meals planned for the next 27 days so unless something unheard of happens then I should be able to do one shop and thats the lot.We go away on holiday on 14th August for two week so I am hoping that with what I already have in the freezer and store cupboards I can save a bit more towards the boys ice-creams ect I have several money off coupons which will help its mostly fresh fruit and vegatables that I want to get and a few basic dried goods. So fingers crossed it will come in under budgetI allow for around £25.00 per week so I want to see how much I can get today that means I won't have to shop hopefully for the rest of the month.
Dinner tonight is at my youngest Dds as usual and next week we are all going to my eldest DDs on Sunday as she's having a bit of a do for my youngest DGD as she is 18.
Right off now to have some breakfast and a shower then a quick hoover round before Dd arrives in time for coffee and fruit cake
have a brilliant day everyone whatever you may be doing and watch the sun if its out and get the cream on just in case

Sun shining. Birds singing. About to head out for a walk with dogs before it gets too hot for the oldie (thick furry coat).
    Looking forward to the tennis.
Easy meals today - a sandwich or something at lunchtime and something from freezer for tea. I have left over roast chicken and gravy in there so will prob have that and a load of veg.
Need to get some food shopping in as low on things like milk and fruit.
A;lso need to get insurance sorted out as we got our renewal but I've noticed that they haven't taken into account this year's claim for laptop so don't want to have false details.
Warm wishes to all and healing thoughts to those who are having such a difficult time.
