    Hi lovely gang :A
Well, four pages in one day is pretty good going even by the NSD standards, something tells me this is going to be a busy month!!:D

A warm welcome to some newbies joining up today, it’s great to have you on board. If you’re not sure about anything please ask, we’re very friendly and there’s usually someone around to help. Feel free to join in with the chat and general nonsense on here, we’re fairly tame (well, most of the time). Good luck with your first NSD challenge - keep posting, that’s the secret to success here.

    So a big welcome to:

:hello:beadgirl87 - all signed up now for your 6, good luck with getting your target. Keep posting, that’s the secret to success and ask away if you want to know anything, we’re a friendly bunch (if prone to flights of fancy occasionally...).

:hello:happydaddy01 - all signed up now for your 15, good luck with getting your target. Keep posting, that’s the secret to success and ask away if you want to know anything, we’re a friendly bunch (if prone to flights of fancy occasionally...).

:hello:redapril - all signed up now for your 10, good luck with getting your target. Keep posting, that’s the secret to success and ask away if you want to know anything, we’re a friendly bunch (if prone to flights of fancy occasionally

  • Morning all, NSD #3 for me yesterday, very pleased with three in a row right of the starting line. Sadly, going to have to spend some money today. The car is running on fumes so will have to put some petrol in this morning.

    Good morning all!
Well Mum's surprise went off really well!
Just to give a little background - the music in question was a piece my Mum used to play to us when we were growing up. She had to give up her piano when they moved to a smaller house and she also gave away most of her sheet music. Now, this is quite an obscure piece, but my sis managed to source the sheet music on the interweb. Turns out that when we got it, it was my Mum's original copy ( there was handwriting on it) SPOOKY!
Anyway, they played it in church and she was totally overwhelmed - tears all round!;)
It was a great way to round up her brithday and just proves that the best presents neednt cost a fortune!
On the downside, I ended up at the emergency dentist last night as my gum was/has been really swollen since the extractions. I was really concerned that it was infection. The dentist trimmed the denture as it was cutting into my gum, which gave some relief, but it's still sore today so I'm going to my own dentist to have it checked out. The drugs I'm on for Crohn's mean I'm prone to infection so I am a bit paranoid about it!
Will be off work today, and trying not to feel guilty about it as they are really busy in there today.
Sorry for the long post/ whinge!

BTW - Lovin those prizes Spoon!

Have a lovely day everyone! :-)

Good morning luvverly NSD peeps, a fabulous day here in Nargleland and a few days off ahead of me to enjoy. Hopefully I will resist the temptation to spend.

After my post last night (the one about leaving my OH sitting asleep in a river of red wine vomit after a drunken afternoon) I had to throw out the cold bacon and eggs I had cooked him (not so sadistic that I would serve it up to him later) and try to get him cleaned up and up to bed. Managed to eventually get his shirt off him and into the washing machine (as well as a couple of the cushion covers) then got a cold wet flannel and towel and washed his face and chest as best I could. Then at 10:15 pm I left him to it and went to bed. He eventually staggered up under his own steam at around 3:30 am. This morning he has declined a cup of tea in favour of having some more sleep, so I have left a large glass of water by the bed with a couple of Ibuprofen. The washing machine is on the go, DS is by now at school and the morning is mine to do with as I wish. Few jobs to get on with today, including planning meals for the week and tackling a mini ironing pile before it balloons out of all proportion.

CW - sounds like your new chap is getting on ok with your family, hope things continue to go well. Hope your DD is in better spirits today.

kerri - Igor is busy trying to adapt his recipe for cheese volauvents to include moon-cheese. I think I have some bad news to break to him about the moon - cheese link.....

Spoon - Happy new NSD thread, it's a cracker as usual and already the NSDs are rolling in.

Jinty - don't feel guilty about taking the day off. As you are now you would be neither use nor ornament to your colleagues, so get your face fixed and enjoy the sunny weather. That is, if you are having any sunny weather up your end of the planet - I know you are a bit closer to the Arctic Circle than I am...

Hi Spoon, can you put me down for 15 NSD's please?

I am not going to count direct debits, bills and window cleaner in this challenge :)

Unfortunately I got buried under the non NSD's and am climbing my way back up again. So am using this thread and the grocery challenge to get my finances kicked into shape :)

Not sure what the NSD's in a row mean as I have a bit of a fuzzy brain at the moment due to a summer cold that won't go away, and not pacing myself properly..

Oooh just realised I have done 2 NSD's so far, not including bills and online bills.

2 NSD's so far. I think this month might be a bit more difficult than I hoped. Will try my hardest.
