Ahh yes, I meant to mention that too Jints - how amazing that your mum's sheet music found it's way back too. x (darnit, got that annoying lump back in my throat at the thought of it...oh no...I don't do emotion...oh dear...too late..pass the hankies :))
had to find my hankies when I read it as well :o

spend day for me today :( all of 89p (less staff discount) on a full price pack of cookies from the bakery

had to be done in the name of 'research' though ;) when I go to Mr T I always find it very hard to come home without a pack of their oat and raisin ones, and as of today we now do them at Mr M as well..... so I had to check if they're as good as Mr T's didn't I ;)

and I can safely say I don't need to make an excuse to visit Mr T anymore (even if their's do have slightly more crunch) as I decided to try one while waiting for the kettle to boil...... and finished the entire pack of 5 before I made my first brew of the evening

next trial will be what they're like at the end of their 'life' (ie. when they hit clearance) - just hoping they're not going to turn out to be a flavour that never makes it that far :rotfl:

Jinty that's lovely! I was actually wondering if the person you'd got to play the music was the Queen as I noticed she was visiting a church in your neck of the woods at the weekend! :D

If :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Love it! Whatever happened to the Happy Mondays? :rotfl:

Yesterday and today have been spendy days. Today on dinner. On the plus side I paid by card and the others gave me cash, so I will use that to pay for the pictures in the framers and allocate it to that today!

Got my 3rd NSD today as I didn't go to the farm for my eggs after all. I also decided to have a cheese toastie for tea instead of going to KFC or ordering a Dominoes pizza.

Tomorrow I will be going into town for a few bits, but shall make it a day to get everything I need for this week, as I am already in town.

Jinty what a lovely thing for your mum xxx

    Good evening all :hello:

Spoony got my 3rd NSD thank you :A

    Hi lovely NSD gang:A
As you can see there is lots of activity on this challenge at the moment and it's difficult sometimes to see how many NSDs you're all declaring on posts.
Could I ask you to highlight your number of NSDs in a colour and in bold so that I can see them easily when I whizz through the posts - red would be best but I don't really mind as long as I can see the numbers easily.

Some helpful suggestions and ideas to follow below from our sponsor and godmother, BigMummaF :A
    NO SPEND CHALLENGE.

    1. Have a good, long think about what YOU want to include in your Spend & Excluded categories.
Some of us count everything from Direct Debits & school expenses, while others do not include things like essential Bills or emergency medical costs. If you plan what is or is not a Spend for you now, it will help you decide on a realistic Target.
    2. It is NOT a race!
We all have very different demands on our time & bank balance, so please do not think you have to buy everything on 1st January & make it last till 31st December! A few of us have been following this Challenge for a long...long...LONG time so have developed plans & ploys to help us along the way wink2.gif
    3. Most important of all, WE..DO..NOT..FAIL!
Sometimes we can't quite reach our Target, but that is fine :) Everyone knows how Life will try to trip us up, & that is when you will find us here to help you back on to your feet.

OK, an idea of how some of us do things.
    1. What you will or will not include as a 'Spend'.
Some people are doing other Challenges too, & don't include the money spent on those for this one.
Some will try to shop for other bits on the days their direct debits etc go out of their bank accounts; they're the real hard core of the bunch sport-smiley-003.gif & have been l-o-n-g time Nsders so don't panic :p
Some won't count those annoying last minute demands from school & collections as you can't plan for them in advance, likewise emergency prescriptions or visits to the vet :(
Personally speaking & providing I don't buy anything else, I don't count parking for hospital appointments.(..but then I usually do my shopping because I'm already out )
General thoughts on €bay sales is the buyer has paid P&P so no cost to you :D
    2. It takes Time to reach mega-numbers!
The First suggestion is the first, because a bit of planning will work wonders on your road to your Target. Have a look at Solvent's (aka Spoon:rotfl:) first posts each month for a hefty list of other Threads that may be of help. For example, there's a few giving ideas for packed lunches so you can avoid standing in the queue at the bakers for 45mins of your lunch hour! A good incentive to tweak your healthy eating & the pounds you save will show in your bank balance AND your waistline action-smiley-076.gif
It helps to have various 'money pots' for the different costs that happen like Scouts, dinner money, yoga, window cleaner etc etc. The idea is you "spend" all that money in one hit by....
let's say **putting the week's bus fares into the pretty coffee jar, Jo's tumble tots SIZE=2]Weds mornings[/SIZE in the cracked teapot & Ben's £1 coin for the gym locker SIZE=2]Friday lunch[/SIZE in the pocket of the changing bag, on Tuesdays every week when you've got some change from doing the food shop, so an already spendy day. At least four 'spending days' condensed into one ;) (**mine's jam jars for windows, milkman & a bit towards the bills!)
    3. Any day the money stays in your pocket is a bonus!
If you look at it as a day you beat the system, you can't help but :j so don't fret it--ENJOY! If nothing else in here, we do manage find something to make us smile :D

We have virtual outings to wonderful places that never cost us a bean :rotfl:New York, Edinburgh & Brighton have been a couple & Spoon usually pilots the Tardis but you can use your own transport; my personal favourite has been a sit-on lawn mower borrowed from the cricket club :D The only thing to be aware of is Hubert the donkey who is partial to anything remotely edible but is not yet house-trained :o

    And Remember;
there are no silly questions, so don't be afraid to ask us anything!

  • No nsd for me today as I had to buy a new bulb for brake light and a couple of other bits from boots, then decided I wanted ice cream and ended up spending £10 in supermarket! Don't suppose I can complain though seeing as I hardly ever pay for things with MrS. I did however spend the afternoon hoovering his flat and cleaning it up for the letting agent to inspect!! (he wasn't going to get home to do it before they turned up)

Darn it Nicca! I've been rumbled - Lizzie was tinkling the ivories good-style!:rotfl:

Thanks for all your lovey posts re my Mum, you are all a lovely bunch!th_kiss.gif

Mouth a little better today, turns out it is ulcers that are causing the pain. I've to keep the denture out till its healed so I wont be crossing the door till that happens! I wont be seen dead with no gnashers that's for sure!
I said I might go in tomorrow, but I might just resign myself to being off this week and get well and truly healed. I know they are really busy in there ATM but I couldnt concentrate with my mouth in the state it's in!

Still no NSD as I had some bits and bobs to get in Boot$ yesterday. I'll get there, I promise!;)

    Have a lovely day everyone:)

Thanks for the lovely welcome :D

May not achieve an NSD today as DS1 needs new trainers. Have found a pair of Adidas trainers on JJB for £8.50 (for a size 5!) and earned £1.20ish in cashback too! Pretty pleased with that as I normally get the no branders from Sports Direct with a budget of £15 per pair so with cashback that's half price for a pair of trainers that DS1 (who is 12) wont complain about for once.... don't know why he bothers I never give in lol Did explain that he's only getting adidas because they were the cheapest and not because I'm bowing to pressure hahaha

Must get on with gardening today, weather here has mentioned rain for the last few days so better make the most of it (even though they have been wrong everyday so far!)

Have a good day everyone x
